About the Author Stefani Milan grew up in an entertainment family where music and creativity were encouraged. One of her fondest memories as a child was pretending she was an archaeologist in her backyard. She had her green and pink caboodle, and she had just discovered the Queen of Egypt’s sacred blue crystal that could transport her to anywhere in the world. Of course, it was only a mud-covered rock, but her vivid imagination led her to explore her artistic archetype. She wrote music and stories, sang, played the flute and piano, and acted in various school plays from elementary school to college. Every experience is a potential story in her eyes. She visualizes stories as films, and when she writes novels, she writes for the screen. The Secret of Kolney Hatch is a murder mystery set in 1926 London and Scotland and is rooted in the shadows of the Jungian archetypes. Much of Stefani's free time is spent studying books about metaphysics, psychology, the brain, alternative healing, gemstone healing and spirituality. She brings an element of her studies into her writing. Each character is carefully crafted from her in-depth studies of personalities, psychology, and archetypes, and of course, is sometimes based off of people she meets. Stefani's intention is to see her novels on the big screen some day. She also intends to write self-help books. For now, she will continue to work on the long line of fiction stories she has waiting to be told and shared with the world.

There is something for everyone in this gem of a novel. Set in 1920's England and Scotland, and filled with historical detail, this thriller will hook you and take you away from your life. Be warned...you will not be able to get anything done until you finish this book! So, fill your glass with a favorite beverage, get a sitter for the kids, and dive in to this page turner. It will give you the creeps, make your hair stand on end, and keep you guessing until the very last page.

From the first second I opened it, I was captivated by Stefani Milan’s world. Set in England and Scotland in the 1920’s, the book is a psychological thriller that does not disappoint. It follows a young doctor, named Paul Watson, who goes to Scotland in order to work at an insane asylum. Almost from the very beginning, you are concerned for his safety and his sanity as he begins to discover that all is not well in Koleny Hatch. Meanwhile, the author cuts the tension by going back to London to follow Petunia Pennyworth, the town gossip, on her journey to uncover the mystery from her end. This is very well done and kept me interested and on my toes.This book is filled with little gems, such as Paul’s last name is Watson and he is a doctor. Therefore, he is known as “Doctor Watson”. Also, his housekeeper who is named Eda Holmes…so it is literally Holmes and Watson together again! "The Secret of Kolney Hatch" is just brimming with things like that, which adds to the charm of the writing.The final verdict on this delightful, edge of your seat, thrill ride is 5 out of 5 stars! And I cannot wait to see more from this budding new author.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Very clever thriller! By Kara ORourke I really enjoyed this book! It was FULL of suspense, intrigue and unexpected twists. I could not wait to see what was going to happen. The characters & their relationships were well developed and I hope we will be seeing some of then again soon (sequel??)! I highly recommend this to any mystery lovers out there - it will be a quick read because you won't be able to put it down.
