Snow Men, by Andrew Ceroni Review KIRKUS REVIEWS May 6, 2015"A former U.S.government agent faces off against Russian operatives who may be planning anuclear attack in Alaska in Ceroni's (Meridian, 2000) thriller. Ex-FBI agent Dave McClure leaves his Coloradohome for Alaska. He hopes a wintry November trek will help him through the painof losing his wife and son in a car collision a year earlier. But withstanding the cold takes a back seatwhen McClure finds a body in the snow... Theprotagonist and Alaskan locale make a winning combo... exhilarating moments... Atriumph... should be read with a space heater handy." KirkusReviews (Review Posted: May 6th, 2015) READERS' FAVORITE Reviews May 7, 2015"Snow Men by AndrewCeroni is somewhat of an escapist adventure-cum-thriller. Dave McClure is anex-FBI agent whose job resulted in his not being with his wife and child whenthey were killed in a car accident. He blames himself and makes the decision toembark on a journey to the wilderness of Alaska, where the harshness ofsurvival will either bring back his reason for being alive, or take his life... a story of intrigue, tension, and excitement... a page turner... For those who love white-knuckle thrillers with adventure and extreme survival, this is one not to miss." Readers' Favorite ReviewsWRITER'S DIGEST, October 12, 2015"True to an international thriller, the novel is set in various localesaround the world, not just Alaska, so readers get a taste of Israel, France,Amsterdam, even Thailand. The writer also uses the sensory nature of Alaskanwinter to dramatize his novel - cold, wind, wolves, below-zero temperaturesand, of course, lots and lots of snow. This added layer of environmentaldangers, combined with the ultimate manmade threat of nuclear weapons, give thenovel those necessary thriller qualities." CHERYL RODRIGUEZ, Book Reviews, May 7, 2015"David McClure, a federal agent, grieves the death of his wife and son;trying to make sense of his loss, he plans a trip into the Alaskanwilderness. He treks into the Chugach Mountains, unaware of the violencethat awaits him. The action steadily intensifies, paving the way to athrilling, dramatic showdown. Andrew Ceroni narrates a riveting tale ofsurvival and bravery... a perfect blend of conflict - man against man, coupled with man versus nature... Revenge and justice are dishes best servedcold in the Alaskan wilderness."
From the Author I owe tremendous thanks to Leigh Coates and Wyatt Ratterree, both pilots with Vertical Solutions in Valdez, Alaska. They provided an absolutely incredible adventure flying by helicopter over the rugged wilderness of the Chugach Mountains and then landing and walking on the Bering Glacier, all of which in fact planted the seed for the story in SNOW MEN. If you're ever in Valdez, this is a must-do experience!

By Karl Tolley There is more than ample plausibility in Ceroni's chilling plot in SNOW MEN given the current daily realities of a "Second Cold War" espionage and advanced technology to keep one immersed in the flow of this book's plot, a story with eye-opening but satisfactual surprises. As with all great novels, this book has several ongoing parallel stories of people, places and events, all coming together to interact with one another and allowing the reader to speculate on connecting the dots and yet still be surprised. The wonderful detail of the scenes transport the reader to gaze out across a picturesque Alaskan bay (although you've never really seen one), trek a trail in the deep Alaskan mountain wilderness or eye the devastating .44 magnum ammo loads in the hand of the character... you are there in the story as it unfolds. Ceroni's writing style easily enables the reader's eye to witness the events. There is the anticipated and yet sudden unexpected knife fight to the death in the nighttime blackness of the frigid Alaskan forest. You are in the room with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as a launch order for a deep space intercept is declared. And you will laugh & cheer at an oddest of heroes in a humongous, 1,500 pound grizzly named Brutus. This story has it all and then more; take-no-prisoner heroes, vengeful villainous characters, techno authenticity, almost sacrificial patriotism and deadly action that spans the globe from Paris, France to Phuket, Thailand. If there was ever a book that screamed out for a big screen Hollywood film, Snow Men is it -- and it would prove to be a block-buster."

From the very beginning the story started to grab my attention. The lead character was an FBI agent in turmoil who was looking for closure on his family's death. Enter the Israeli intelligence service and a nefarious plot conceived by Iranians and the Russians and nuclear weapons. The story line developed at a rapid pace and so does your desire not to put the book down. I had to take a break several times to get some good snacks to keep my energy level equal to that of the action in the story. Who would have ever thought a world affecting nuclear threat could happen in Alaska and be resolved by a reluctant hero? The author did a great job in making sure that the sinister plot in the book wan't revealed right away like so many action thrillers. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. The only thing I didn't like was the thought there might not be a follow-on book. Great job and looking forward to more of our new hero.

A Story Well Told By Norm Having known the author through most of his distinguished military career, I am well aware of his extensive subject knowledge and his passion for his craft. SNOW MEN is a wonderful blending of his experiences and his masterful ability to draw a story before the reader as if seeing it in one's mind's eye. It takes consummate talent to write about multiple situations where many lives come together with common causes, but with few if any knowing the "Big Picture". The government professional knows that such operational compartmentalization as depicted does exist. The casual reader should be left wondering if that is the way life really is, and that is how the author left it. A story well told and a great read.
