A huge story packed into a small package! Not only is this short story a fast read, it is also enthralling, humorous and so engrossing. I didn't want to put it down. Jillian and Jack are my new favorite duo. I can't wait to have more of these two ladies. When I add in Jack's crazy ex partner, her current kookie partner and her hard nosed captain, plus all the new characters I meet in each book, there is no end to the crazy fun these two are in for. Harry kills me with his off the wall schemes and the fact Jack lets him get away with so much without literally taking his head off. Each book is a standalone so I don't have to worry about reading order. The mystery is thrilling and often I enjoy letting it unfold so much I don't even try to solve it.All these crazy characters just work. Plain and simple. They flow together and are the perfect choices for each other to play off of. They make each scene and book better. The dialogue is fantastic and the the descriptive writing is such that I didn't need extra details. I had everything I needed. I am constantly in awe at how much Mr. LeRoy can put in to his short stories. They always seem longer yet I read them so fast! I always highly recommend his books because they are pure entertainment, whether you want humor, thriller, or a good mystery he has you covered.***I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest and fair review

Leroy’s novella Remember the Dead, a mystery thriller that takes place in the world of author J.A. Konrath. The story follows Lieutenant Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels and Jillian Varela, a private investigator from California, who work together to catch a sadistic serial killer known only as the “Parkside Strangler.” With her job on the line and Chicago politicians breathing down her neck, Jack races against time to solve the case before it’s too late.Author H.L. Leroy weaves together an incredibly entertaining cast of characters together to tell a riveting story about drugs, sex, and murder. His witty dialogue, unforgettable scenes, and fascinating plot twists make it impossible to put the story down and leave you hungry for more. At times piece is outrageously funny, disarmingly clever, and yet deadly serious which is how it’s able to grip the reader’s attention and not let go. Featuring a strong female protagonist with enough sass to blow up the city, this novella has the reader hanging on Jack’s every word and rooting for her until the very end.Remember the Dead is heavily cliché at times, but still enjoyable because of the snappy storyline. From time to time it is difficult to read because, although it’s intended for a mature audience, it reads like a YA fiction due to its simple, concise writing. Moreover, the reader is often told what is happening instead of shown the scene through detailed imagery. Additionally, the characters come off as caricatures which is why some of their mannerisms come off as unbelievable at times.However, this novella is still a fun and intriguing read.I give “Remember the Dead” 3 out of 5 stars.Cheers,B. Higby I always love these Jack Daniels crossovers and one of the best authors in this grouping is H.L. Leroy. I read this one not too long ago and enjoyed its gritty story. About the Author Susan Brownell is the Founder of SanctuaryForCancerCaregivers.com website. Over a consecutive eight-year period her mother, father, stepmother and stepfather, all were diagnosed with cancer. She also helped care for other ill and elderly family members over the years. She struggled with the stress and exhaustion of caregiving. She knows the pain and the heartbreak. She knows the physical and emotional toll caregiving takes. Susan has written two books on caregiving. She has been interviewed for an article appearing in Cure ® magazine regarding her role as a cancer caregiver. Fills an Essential Need that is difficult to define yet so many of us need this By Stephanie Atwood When I started reading this I felt it might be too long. But as I read through the words and the innumerable times that Susan was involved in caregiving, I started to reflect on how this book might be read, a few pages at a time when a caregiver needs a bit of care herself, and some gentle, non- judgmental, even not time demanding words.This book covers that type of reading and brought so much of my own family's caregiving experiences to heart.I love the drawings and appreciated the quotes. Your book fills an essential need that is difficult to define yet so many of us have known of what you speak or are going through it at this moment.Well done! Stephanie Atwood

This is the most important book you may read to help you through the process. I regret this review can not give justice to this wonderful guide book. I lost my wife of thirty years to Cancer. If I had this book before her passing my life would have been different.Caregiver Susan Brownell shares her many years of experience helping you to make the passing a better time, not only for your loved one and yourself but your relatives and friends. Ms. Brownell covers the many aspects and circumstances that may arise. She explores taking care of the caretaker as well as the patient. She gives many many little things you can do to make the loved one interested and occupied. How to give a better quality life in the final days. Her main message is Love, and she covers this beautifully from all areas.If you have a loved one with Cancer get this book now! I know I made many mistakes this book could have prevented. I think the only thing I did right was showing and expressing love. It was about the last day before my wife's passing, after spending the night at her side, I was heading off to get a little sleep. The usual process was to say "I love you" and she would say "I love you too". This time I said "I love you" and she gave me a sweet smile and said "I know".

By Randy Nutt I lost my Dad to cancer in 2000 and everything Ms Brownell wrote about in her book is right on track on dealing with the disease and how to deal with a dying family member! She touched on the right issues and her many suggestions to make the patient's life more enjoyable is exactly right! I didn't have a book like this to read going through my Dad's illness but it would have been most helpful and a welcome guide to have during that time!

As with the other books in this series it is a tight, well written story that puts you right in the middle of the action. Once I started reading I did not stop until i was finished at 6:00 in the morning. I highly recommend , if you have not done so already, go back and start reading the series from the beginning. I am waiting for book 7 and David's continuing adventures Jeff, hurry. This is my first review of any of the books I have read.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great series of books By Kindle Customer I have read all of the David Wolf books and enjoyed each one. I actually finished Smoked Out in record time. Was so excited when I got the e-mail it had come out. Wolf is a character that you root for and each book draws the reader in. Lots of interesting twists and turns. I am an avid reader (at least 4 books a week) and this is one of my favorite authors. Immerse yourself in these books you will not be disappointed.

Searching around for a different genre to read, I came across this one under the Kindle Unlimited program. I will admit that this is my first adventure with this author and his wonderful character, Wolf! So glad that I was searching for something different the other day.At the beginning of this one, Wolf is recuperating from a horrendous injury. He had suffered a broken pelvis and is still having the demons of his USA service come as nightmares in the dark of the night. This story escalates from his recuperation to that of a fast moving freight train in just a few pages. One incredible read that will leave the reader thinking you have it figured out but you will be wrong.A mixture of murders and mayhem will put you on the edge of your seat. Toss in a drug organization known as the Ghost Cartel and some dubious real estate transactions for that added punch! If you like grisly scenes to whet your appetite, there are several of those, too.All in all an outstanding read for me. Characters are well developed, action is non-stop and the plot is excellent.Most highly recommended.

The digitally created illustrations are minimalistic and have an appealingly vintage feel. However, the organizational structure is not exactly intuitive. I can understand why adults would enjoy that aspect. It's cute. But as a tool for learning first words, it is ineffective. The illustrations are just not clear to young children. My preschoolers, who are old enough to know most of the words in this book (except "leek" and "radish" for example), were confused by some of the illustrations: they thought the tower was a rocket and the barn was a doghouse and the pickle was a cucumber, for example. Is that a peach or an apricot? A mango or an egg?The chapter categories don't add value and in fact add to the chaos. The first pages of "things in nature" are fruits and vegetables - I can't argue that they are found in nature, but kids don't really think of bananas as "things in nature." And why are seasons and weather categorized as "things around the world"? I thought "things around the world" would be more geographically interesting."What will you be when you grow up" is kind of disturbing. I can't even talk about it right now.An adorable mouse is "hiding" on every page, but finding him got old fast. He would be better served in a book with a plot.p.s. For teaching first words, DK has an excellent series of large board books, each called "Tabbed Board Books: My First ________" (words, colors, animals, home, etc), that expose toddlers to a broad vocabulary with clear photographs.

By aija holz this book is wonderful! the illustrations are simple but so so eye pleasing! labelled as a book for learning your first words it's exactly that! but i got it for my boy for his 3rd birthday and while he knows all the words in the book already, he is practicing his reading on the words. so it's versatile! it would also be great maybe for a kid of any age really learning english as a second language. this book is so good i kept getting it out of the cupboard to flip through the pages before i wrapped it for my birthday boy! i highly recommend it for kids of all ages really! and for the parents!

There's no rush, we just look at pictures - I can ask her the questions about the pictures and she can practice shapes, colors, parts of the body, and many basic words as we enjoy a little lap time cuddle and reading time together. Wonderful for toddlers/preschoolers with delightful illustrations. Highly recommend!

From the Author During my first year in medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, I partook in anatomy dissections in a laboratory located on a sky-high floor of a towering building that overlooked the city. Each glance out the window afforded a panoramic view the Bay Area -- Oakland and the East Bay; Alcatraz; Sausalito; and the Golden Gate Bridge opening to a seemingly endless Pacific. Ships laden with containers eased in and out of the bay as the morning wore on. Fog came and went as it pleased, but in the views, and in the sound of gusts blowing through windows opened just enough to allow fresh air to enter, the mind had a way of wandering just a bit. And thus Stand at Bay was born.San Francisco and the Caribbean are, in some ways, natural partners for the backdrop of a novel because each affords boundless waterborne beauty. In the summer between my freshman and sophomore years in college, I traveled for two months as a vagabond throughout the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean, stopping as a bird might on each island in a north-south migration. In the process, I discovered that each drop of land dotting the magnificent turquoise sea hosted its own personality. And so why not create a make-believe island and call it "Solitaire"? A perfect place for a wayward medical student to meet, perhaps, the woman of his life.

I loved the way the various settings were portraited so well through words. I could almost 'feel' the island breeze on Solitaire, and the cool waters of Blue Bonnet Bay. Each character was well established as part of the story line, and I loved the background material. I plan to read this book again, and give it as gifts. Great reading material for a beach vacation.

Ward A good-hearted thriller, somewhat suggesting in some odd particulars "The Da Vinci Code," which is hard to explain, in that Klontz's book came out a couple years prior: I'm thinking of the odd intervention of a female sidekick with a talent for cryptography as a key plot element. Also (as in Brown's book) a bit too bright of a halo on the main character; you like him, but his lack of a flaw of any sort makes him a little tedious. On the same token, the villain is also an unmitigated jerk; one yearns for more nuance in the characters.I, personally, felt that the novel does not make you care enough that some greedy developers are going to destroy an unspoilt stretch of California coastline, contrary to the wishes stated in the bequest of the last owner; or that a dark conspiracy of developers would commit that kind of conspiratorial mayhem to enforce their will.There were some odd tautologies: Klontz feels the need to introduce each character with a recital of his educational background, which does not really show penetration.But the odd premonitions of the Da Vinci Code, both in details and in general tone, are the odd thing here. One wonders if a common source or influence is involved.A worthwhile outing, in any case. Spend some time with it.

I have heard the ravine chemical story plot before but this story was unique both in the way it was told (each character in the story took alternating chapters as the story unrolled) and the unusual sexual roles of several of the characters, not extreme or initially coming from them but more created by the people around them. Then what male couldn't enjoy Gynecomastia! A thoroughly gripping story told in pastels rather than out and out explicit. And the girl/boy gets their boy/girl.

By Jana L.Perskie I recently read Kevin Wignall's "For The Dogs: A Novel," and was so impressed that I picked up his first book, "People Die." Although not as good as the last effort, "People Die" is certainly worth 4 Stars and makes for an exciting and unusual read. It is an extremely well-written, fast-paced, edgy, spy thriller, with a bit of satire thrown in.William "JJ" Hoffman is the epitome of a professional. He's more-or-less a consultant in that the work he does is free-lance. And he has earned a reputation for himself as one of the best in his field - the business of assassination. His top clients include the CIA and M-16. He quietly and competently does the job, with no mess or complications. He is discreet and keeps his nose clean. As a matter of fact, some of his colleagues have actually said that if they had to be targeted for death, they would prefer JJ to make the hit.His last job, in Moscow, was the execution of an American businessman - a supposedly devoted family man found in bed with a teenager who appeared to be a prostitute. JJ was mesmerized by the beautiful and exotic young girl and allowed her to escape. Her image, her presence, will remain with him throughout the novel. When she left the hotel room, she carried a package with her. Fast-forward two years. JJ is in Paris to contact his primary handler. He finds the man dead in his home library, brutally murdered. As Hoffman professionally scans the murder scene, he gets a sense that this is not just an isolated killing. Something is terribly wrong. It turns out that JJ has every reason to be paranoid. Apparently his network is being downsized - drastically. And he is a prime target. He has no idea who to trust, especially after a very close and trusted friend tries to kill him. Wignall leads the reader through a maze of twists and turns, where nothing is as it seems. And then the author seamlessly ties everything together in a breathtaking conclusion.The character of "JJ" is extremely well developed. He is not just a man of action, as are many primary characters in suspense thrillers. There are periods where he becomes extremely introspective, especially when everyone he used to trust is dead or trying to kill him. He wonders how he ever became an assassin and if it is too late to lead a more balanced life. He has become marginalized - disconnected from his family and old friends. He finds himself isolated - totally alone. This darker, more melancholy theme gives the novel more depth than the traditional genre book.I discovered a terrific writer when I read "For The Dogs." He doesn't disappoint with his 1st book either. I can't wait for his third. Kevin Wignall is an author whose work I highly recommend.JANA

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A surprisingly good first novel. By H. S. Wedekind I had stumbled on British author Kevin Wignall quite by accident. While browsing the "Mystery" section of the bookstore, not having anyone in particular in mind, the title FOR THE DOGS grabbed me. (That and the fact that I'm partial to British writers.) Thumbing through it, I read a few pages and became interested. I bought the book, took it home, and read it in one afternoon. I liked Wignall's way with words and his dispassionate protagonist, a hitman named Lucas. Discovering that this was Wignall's second novel, after reading reviews of FTD here on amazon.com, I ordered PEOPLE DIE. I'm glad I did. This is a first-rate noir thriller and better than FOR THE DOGS, in my opinion. JJ is a likable hitman, who, for some unknown reason, finds out that he is marked for death...but by whom? The CIA? MI6? Russian Mafya? I won't give the ending away, though it was not the high point in the book, and sort of anticlimactic; hence, the 4 star rating...again, my opinion. On the whole, I enjoyed it more than Wignall's second book.

By John Barrett Kevin Wignall writes fascinating stories about what we should normally view as unsavory characters -- hitmen, professional killers. In the course of a Wignall story, we usually see his characters killing people, sometimes innocent people along with their targets. I would not expect to find such characters engaging, yet Wignall has a gift for getting inside the head of a hitman, drilling through layers of introspection, even finding moments of redemption or levels of grace: not your typical thriller. Highly recommended.

Phipps breaks down his ideas into eight different pillars or secrets to achieve God's best for our lives. Ranging from belief and virtue to kindness and love, each section is broken down and interspersed with interesting vignettes that illustrate the importance of each pillar.I really can't remember the last time I read a book that immediately changed the way that I looked at myself and others. For example, I loved the way that Phipps explained how we are all made in God's image. It is one thing to read it in the Bible and another thing to internalize what that means and should look like in the way we relate to others and how we view ourselves. The entire book is filled with thought-provoking ideas to internalize lessons straight from the Bible.If you are looking for a book to change your life, this one has that potential. With non-fiction books, you can never be sure if you are going to click with the ideas or if it will be too dry or filled with ideas that are not that useful. This one far surpassed what I hope for in a non-fiction book. I think a lot of people could be positively impacted by this book.The highest compliment I can give to a book is for me to put it on my bookshelf that I don't lend out from. This book made the cut!I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher as part of a book launch team in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is a great book to reflect on where you are with your personal life journey. By Dawn Costello Here we are the final installment of the Ruthless People trilogy...American Savages, and I believe the best book of the series. That is saying a lot because I freaking love each book.I think the reason I loved AS so much was for one simple fact ...Liam Callahan! This IS Liam's book!!!He was in rare form and I just ate it up. Every despicable deed, every completely insane plan he formulated. But my absolutely favorite part of Liam ' s "rebirth", as I like to call it, was his need to get control of Mel. Liam, for me became the man he was always intended to be, but had not pushed far enough. Mel's disappearing act pushed him too far. He, again for me, became Ruthless in his pursuit to make Mel understand once and for all, HE was a man in control. I absolutely loved Liam.He has grown so much form the man he was in Ruthless People. Gone is the spoiled, entitled man. He is a man on a mission and with one clear path... make everyone pay for hurting his family. His rise to power began with a man trying to hurry and prove himself... his guard slips... he fixes it and rules with a calmer head... it was a beautiful thing to see.Mel, makes a spectacular return and I mean really, was there ever any doubt? We see the light in Liam's eyes when she does appear, but that quickly fades when he demands answers. Not gonna lie, I did enjoy the bit of hell Liam put her through. It broke my heart when he saw her for the first time in months . But then he tells her exactly how he felt and she was not prepared for his coldness. She must learn that sometimes showing weakness towards those you love the most, does not mean that you are weak. The evolution of Liam and Melody, is absolutely fantastic. And the ending of the book, will BLOW YOU AWAY!The depth and richness of the characters in AS is fantastic. Miss McAvoy, does not disappoint at all. She has written a book, a series that is like nothing else out there. Its not pretty, its ugly and hard to not hate these people. But each of them have qualities that make you just root for them... Except Olivia... GOD I HATED HER!If you are a fan of this series, we get everything we have ever wanted, and by that, Olivia finally gets what she deserves!!! I can not remember a time when I wanted a character in a book to die so badly. And not just die, suffer a horrible death... does that make me Ruthless???We get to see Neal step up in a BIG way and redeem himself in Liam eyes. I really am happy that Neal found happiness... SHHH, I can't give it away.Now, on to my favorites... Declan and Coraline or as I like to call them... "the bright spot!" I adore these two characters...Dec is so loving and passionate about his wife, almost to a fault when you are in a Mob family. He never puts anything before Coraline, and if he did she would not bat an eye. The family comes first! Coreline, is just the sweetest thing, she is loving and always tries to play peace maker, even when there is a snowballs chance in hell that peace could happen. Plus she is sort of a bada$$! And HELLO, "Free Liam" T shirts... hilarious and the most perfect way to describe her... LOYAL.This is Coraline talking to Mel."Mel, just tell him you're sorry." She added and I turned, smiling at Ethan's head ."I know you love him and he loves you. You both have gone through hell together and apart, but at least when you're both together you can find comfort in each other. When you love someone, you just have to let them win sometimes. It doesn't mean you're weak. It doesn't mean that you are any less of the woman he fell in love with . He would walk through fire to you... while you were gone he told Evelyn to show Ethan pictures of you. He wouldn't let any one of us doubt you. Give him this and move on Mel, if you truly love him or you will lose him permanently. I'm sure you all will still have plenty of fights in the future."I am so happy Declan and Coraline got a happy ending!!! Just wait you will see.Evelyn, is a bit more vocal in AS. She has had enough and lets them all know it. I have always enjoyed her character and wanted to know more about her and Sedric's past... we get that!!! And that is all I am going to say about that.Sedric, he has always been one of my faves. He does not disappoint at all. I love it when he gets all fired up. Sedric has always had the best interest of the family in mind when making decisions regarding their future. He will die before someone in his family is in danger.So much happens and so much history is revealed, my mind had to take time to process it. The way it is all wrapped is so impressive, I found myself yelling at my husband. He walked in to ask me something, I was at 94% I looked up and pointed at the door and said "Nope, s%it is blowing up and people are dying, I need you to leave." I am not kidding. The final chapters are so intense, I flew through them. Only to get to the epilogue that I, FA-REE-KING LOVED!!! We are treated to the future and a glimpse of where the family is years later. You will love it!I almost feel like I should warn you all to be prepared for your heart to ripped out and stomped on. Be prepared to fall in love with Liam in a whole new way. Be prepared for a whole new level of sexiness between Liam and Mel... HOT.And finally, be prepared to understand that, just because these are Ruthless People and would do horrible things to you and yours, they are a very loving and loyal Family!I love this series so much, and Miss McAvoy is an amazing story teller! I honestly do not think this review will do this story justice, but I certainly will not spoil it for you! I also, believe that this should be the end of our beloved Ruthless People... I mean you really can not go out on a bigger BANG!!!!!

The author managed to write a story that gripped me completely. Twists and turns, smiles and tears, love and hate, life and death, it had it all and then, it had an epilogue that was brilliant!!This book is the ending to a trilogy. I can tell you about the story but if you haven't read the first two books then I feel telling you things will spoil your ride.But what I want to tell you is to READ THIS SERIES. It's about the Mafia, it's about killing, it's about revenge BUT it's also about family, it's about love and it's also very sexy.JJ didn't hold back in this book. We see all the repercussions of Mel being away for months and Liam being in jail. Revenge is the motive in this book and it’s a wild ride. Did I mind what happened to Olivia- absolutely not!!! But I did mind what happened to someone else- it brought tears. I didn't want it to be true but being in the Mafia has its consequences. But the letter after the event was heartfelt and beautiful. One of my favorite parts in the book.The banter between Mel and Liam is one of the best ever. I can feel their connection and it's really magical. Both being Bosses is quite extraordinary; their personalities are both dominant yet tender to one another. Mel's sass and Liam's forcefulness is truly amazing. I actually loved the dynamics of the entire family. Sedric and Evelyn, Declan and Cora, and Neal and Olivia are all instrumental within the family. Their roles enhance the story, give it depth and give it intrigue. It's quite special because no matter what, family is first........you live and breathe for your family and the Callahan Family does it spectacularly.I wish that I was somehow involved in the entertainment industry. This series would make a kickass HBO movie/series. I loved the Sopranos, I loved The Godfather trilogy, I just love all Mafia type movies ( I may be a little partial as I'm half Italian) and this series is pure entertainment at its best!!Thank you JJ for this incredible family, this wild ride and for all the 50 rules. I also loved how Liam added a 51st rule. I wish there were more rules to come but I can honestly say that I'm happy with the ending to this fantastic story.Copy graciously given by author in exchange for an honest review

That could very well be the theme of this whole series, but most certainly is the motto of this book.Liam and Melody came into each others lives, kicking, screaming and yes, even shooting. They are unlike any couple I’ve read about previously. As the respective heads of their Mafia families, they rule with a iron fist and aren’t afraid to get dirty, and bloody to make a point. There union was filled with passion and anger. Hate and love. They fight mean. But love harder. And this conclusion to their story, showcases the strength of this couple. They truly can survive anything.While they went into their marriage fighting, now they will do everything in their power to save each other, their family, and their legacy.“I’m going to have you tonight, baby, but my question to you is: do you want one orgasm, or do you want to lose track?”This series is unlike other mafia books and movies I have read or watched. Most feature a man or group of men in charge, who rule their families and build their empire. The women usually play a small role, typically spending their husband’s dirty money. But Melody is no typical Mafia wife. She can go toe to toe with Liam, and its worth repeating, she is one of my favorite female book characters. She doesn’t back down from anyone, even the President of the United States. She exudes confidence and power, with only brief moments of vulnerability. She’s not only tougher than some men I know, but also really smart. She always seemed to have a plan and be two steps ahead.Now, I could go on and on about why I like her as a character so much, but if you’ve read the previous books you know, she is not a heroine. She is the definition of an anti-heroine, just as Liam is the anti-hero. They don’t just kill bad guys, many innocent lives are lost as they gain power. Did motherhood soften her up? Not so much.While Melody and Liam are far from angels, there are villains in this book that will have you cheering for these mobsters. Olivia made the decision to go to the dark side in the previous book. Her reasons for turning on her own family were deep seated in jealously. She makes some very unwise decisions along the way, but believe me when I say, she pays for those decisions.Then there is the evil FBI Director, Avian Doers. If you follow our blog regularly, you know that we are in the tail end of Month of Madness tournament, to find the Best of the Worst. Avian could have easily made a run in this tournament. Despite his prestigious title, he is evil. Hell bent on control and power. Although he has moments of outsmarting our dirty family, they have an Ace in the deck to win their hand. And yes, even a morally flawed family can get a HEA.With Melody and Liam’s story coming to an end, I’m sad to see them go. They have thoroughly entertained me as they navigate the world of crime and power. Lots of blood was spilled, lots of lives were lost. Along the way, one vulnerability, family, showed they weren’t untouchable. Pretty and cute designs all about Tokyo and Japan By iiiireader [[VIDEOID:a7d779c9ea9e222b21b308965d0a5d03]]If you liked Zoe de Las Cases “Secret Paris”, then you will most likely also like her coloring book on Tokyo. She follows a very similar format, with architectural designs of famous spots, collages of items we associate with Japan (more so than just Tokyo, I think), full page floral designs in what I like to call wall paper styles, etc. I have enjoyed all Japanese art and architecture for most of my life, so this is a really fun book for me to color. There is everything from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the calm serenity of beautiful fans, umbrellas, paper lanterns, lovely kimonos, lucky cat, and so much more.I really like this collection – first with Paris and now Tokyo (and New York, too.) While I like the designs what I don't especially like is that the designs are printed on both sides of the page and that everything bleeds through except for colored pencils. While it is something that I accept when I buy her books, I really wish the publisher would modify either the paper (heavy duty) printing on only one side or best of all worlds, do both! I doubt that is something that will happen immediately, so I will use my pencils when I work with these books.

I love the designs and details. Overall, there are a lot more pattern types of illustrations than I expected and more pictures of little stores, close-up. I would have liked a skyline of Tokyo picture, Japanese garden, or more of the futuristic aspects of Japan. I also noticed that there are two illustrations that are exactly the same. I am not sure if this is a printing error, but this is disappointing. I would also like the pictures to be on only one side of the page and have more of a margin as it is difficult to color all the way to the center of the book.

Good, but identical to earlier Japan book By Sal Great book, but be warned: it has exactly the same pictures inside as her other book, "Secret Japan". This is not helpful if you've had one and thought you'd love to get the Tokyo-specific version. Also, as the title indicates it's about Tokyo there should only be pictures of Tokyo. Kyoto's Higashiyama district (amongst other things) does not belong in this edition.
