Daniel Schroeder wants nothing more than to repair his father's broken memories, but it's been a long time since he's thought of himself as a memorysmith. Even though convincing Big Dan of their current reality is the most painful task Daniel faces every morning, somehow life manages to prevent him from finding a cure. He needs to keep their family business running. And he needs to moonlight at a competitor's shop to keep all his employees paid. Or maybe he's just trying to keep himself from exacerbating the situation. A year ago, Daniel would have presumed he was clever enough to memorysmith his way out of their predicament, but nowadays he's not so cavalier. Playing with people's memories shouldn't be taken lightly, and things can always get worse. Even with the help of some of the best minds in the business, Daniel still isn't sure how to navigate his way out of the persistent false memory that's crippled his life. Is new programming the answer? Better gear? More money? Or is time the only thing that can heal Big Dan's memories...if they can even be fixed at all. What Daniel needs most is some breathing room, and Elijah Crowe is eager to provide it. Since he's smitten with Daniel, Elijah is determined to prove himself-and he's more than qualified to clear Daniel's schedule by taking over some duties at Adventuretech. With the support of his new boyfriend, possibilities begin to open up for Daniel, hints of things he hasn't even realized he'd stopped hoping for: the contentment of a harmonious family, the fulfillment of his creative expression, and a chance for a relationship with a man he loves.

Daniel Schroeder kept beckoning me from the cover of Mnevermind 1: The Persistence of Memory. I waited until the second book was released until I finally went there. I was instantly immersed in a world so rich in detail, I actually woke up the next morning and checked my hand to make sure I wasn't mneming! That is a great compliment to the brilliance of Jordan Castillo Price. Jordan's books and stories always captivate me and leave me spellbound with wonder. This amazing trilogy is nothing less than superb. The concept. The characters. The rich and detailed world with many of the random flaws life can throw in one's path on any given day, and the idiosyncrasies that bring these characters to life - with a lovely splash of humour thrown in.If you are looking for the perfect specimen of male beauty, as rich as Croesus, washboard abs, an unrealistic sex drive and no storyline to speak of; this story is not for you. If however, you wish to be immersed into a world rich in storyline, character development and subtext; look no further, you have hit the jackpot. Yes, it also contains some really hot sex! More importantly, it contains love in it's most pure, simple and beautiful form.I can't even begin to do justice to these three very special books which make up this trilogy. I loved the first book. I wish I'd read it sooner, then realised I'd have been desperately waiting for the second book's release, so I was relieved I'd waited. I simply adored the second book, Mnevermind 2: Forget Me Not, which was told from Elijah's POV. Elijah still resonates with me now and I will keep him close to my heart always. This final book is a masterpiece. A beautiful and poignant work of art. It was a completely satisfying conclusion, though I will miss them all very much. I know I will want to revisit these books many times over.I give Mnevermind my highest possible recommendation. If you're a fan of JCP's work, this is a must read. If you are new or curious about JCP's work; I urge you to read this trilogy. I can't think of a better place to start.

So if you have not cracked open The Persistence of Memory and Forget Me Not, stop reading my review and go download those books, pronto! I will never forgive you if you don’t.On to the good stuff….Elijah is back, the elusive, brilliant, challenged, brave, mysterious minded Elijah. Daniel is taking things slowly, patiently, and with as much understanding as he can with the budding friendship and relationship between himself and Elijah. While trying to figure out their relationship, Daniel has to face a struggling family business, and to help make ends meet, he’s taken on shifts for a competing Mnem business. The stresses of caring for his dad and caring for the business seems too much, but Elijah steps up, and steps in to help out at Adventuretech, taking on clients and shifts, helping with repairs and helping figure out a way to take some of the burden of caring for Big D off of Daniels back. Really, his ideas are brilliant, and very similar to ways loved ones help cope with caring for adults with dementia or Alzheimer’s.I don’t want to give too many events away, so I’ll just go on to praise the writing in general. The entire Mnevermind trilogy is a favorite of mine because I have to sink my mental fangs into it and suck out all the subtleties, digest the language at times, and let the writing stimulate my imagination. JCP wrote this story much in the way her character Daniel writes his Mnem programs, providing just enough details, stacking the pixels, enough to give me the very strong bones of a great story that I can use my own creativity to fill in details, to bend the world of Mnevermind’s characters to fit my imagination.Elijah, I need to get back to his character. Did I mention brave in my description? Because he is the bravest character I have read in a long while. Elijah is constantly pushed outside his comfort zone, he battles the social discomfort his autism creates, he struggles with accepting his gay sexual identity, he pushed his boundaries in small things, his choice of dress, to big things, taking initiative and responsibility at Adventure tech and in helping Big D cope with his memory problems. He’s becoming so much more brave and stronger than his past, then Elijah even has the courage to push Daniel beyond his fears. In the past and in this book, the sexual relationship between Elijah and Daniel suffered from Elijah’s anxiety and Daniel’s fears of hurting him. Yet Elijah wants to move forward, everything from researching online porn, to trying to verbally communicate with Daniel what he wants, and trying again, even after failure. I like that all is not resolved with his sexual issues, but left in a very good place, with love, and understanding, and courage to move forward while accepting that what they have now is good, in fact awesome.Mnevermind is brainy stuff, not going to deny it, but I love to be challenged, and I dislike being underestimated. Now that the trilogy is complete I will re-read them back to back, so that I can pull more details, maybe fully see the themes that run throughout in a new perspective and enjoy them all again.Courage to face change, to face fears, to accept failure, to find an alternative outcome is for me, what Life Is Awesome, is all about. It’s a beautiful book, an intellectually stimulating and creatively brilliant series. Please support this amazing independent author, and download this series today. You will not be disappointed!
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A lovely ending to a great series! By Heather A nice ending to a beautifully written trilogy by the always consistent, Jordan Castillo Price. This book felt so real. If you are going into the final chapter of the Mnevermind books expecting everything to magically work itself out with minimal effort, you are barking up the wrong tree. What impressed me most about the first two books in the Mnevermind trilogy is how natural and real everything felt: The characters felt real, the relationship issues felt real, and the frustrations felt real. That continued into this book as well. While there were some significant advancements in all of the relationships in this story, some problems persisted... and I LIKED that. While part of me wanted Elijah to start bottoming like a porn star, that just isn't realistic. He has texture and sensory hangups, he's nervous, he has trouble expressing himself- things were a bit fumbly and uncertain in the bedroom again in this book, which gave this story a level of realism that I adored. Real sex is complicated, real sex can be awkward, so BRAVO to JCP for not backing down on the authenticity of this story.Same goes with the issues surrounding Big Dan and the guilt that Daniel lives with everyday, along with the communication issues between Daniel and Elijah. These problems have solutions that are sometimes painful, sometimes imperfect, and sometimes so beautiful that they made me cry. This book is all about life and discovering one's priorities.True to the rest of the series, there is no unnecessary drama, but the storyline has enough tension to remain interesting. It got a little Inception-ish at certain points, with the Mnems within Mnems and not knowing what was reality and what wasn't, but in general, this story was very enjoyable. I almost wish there was another book in the series, or maybe a coda, so I could see what happens to all the characters a few months or years down the road.A lovely end to a very thoughtful trilogy. I don't think Mnevermind fans will be disappointed.**Copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**
