As a matter of fact I would prefer to send it back. I looked through the book and to me the designs r repetitious just different sizes and maybe an extremely slight alteration in a line or so. I am disappointed. I'm not returning it because at least it was inexpensive and it just not worth my time.

I had to tear the back off the book to get the pages out. I loke to color on a flat surface. There was not as much variety in the pictures as I would have liked. The pictures were too much alike.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Likely the last book in the series for me. By Vicki Peterson I'm in the 8th chapter. If this doesn't get better, this will be the last book in this series I will read. Suzanne is becoming less and less likable. She thinks she's a better investigator than anyone else, including her husband. And the stories are becoming predictable.

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Getting annoying By Amazon Customer My same complaint about this author still exists. He is constantly referring to people that we already know. For instance, we know that Jake is Suzanne's husband, there is NO reason to keep telling us that every other page. We know Phillip is Suzanne's step-dad, again, we do NOT need to be told that every time he comes into the picture. Good story, but the writer really needs to stop this because it's getting annoying.

“You’ll have to speak a little louder,” the voice said. “I’m a little hard of hearing.”

Between a highly successful cat burglar and a hippie crucifixion, the 87th Precinct definitely doesn’t need the Deaf Man showing up again—especially since his two previous appearances resulted in blackmail, murder, and general havoc. But at least they have him now...unless he had them first.

The Deaf Man can hardly contain his glee. Detective Steve Carella is about to inadvertently help him rob a bank. Each day, he mails Carella a picture to keep the game going. The first two are pictures of J. Edgar Hoover, while the next ones involve George Washington. All are clues, obviously. But how do they add up? And will the 87th Precinct find out before the Deaf Man has the last laugh?

A tough, taut, and hilarious mystery, Ed McBain’s classic novel will captivate a new generation of police procedural fans.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. It's Taubman vs Carella By Grey Wolffe What's with this guy? Why doesn't he just go do his business in another town and leave the guys of the 87th alone? Why doesn't he leave Steve Carella alone? As with all of McBain's books there are three stories going on simultaneously. The first is related to a group of burglaries of apartments where the tenants are on vacation. The apartments are ransacked and a kitten is left by the (cat) burglar. None of the apartments' doors have been jimmied or picked, so how does he get in?The second mystery is a murder. A man is found nailed to the wall in an abandoned building. The only clue, a left sneaker size 12, and the remains of a fire. The third and main story is that of the "Deaf Man". He mails clues to the 87th and calls them on the phone. The clues point to a robbery at a bank, which the Deaf Man says Steve Carella will help him with. Needless to say that the Deaf Man is to smart for himself and gives Steve one clue too many. Great Fun.Zeb Kantrowitz

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. One of the best By Rudy Andl McBain is the definitive author of police procedure. All his writing entail two or three different crime investigations going on at the same time with one crime being the center of attention. Many times to come together at the end.If you liked Hill Street Blues you will love any McBain novel. He has over fifty in the 87th precint series and each one is a solid if not five star read. Lets Hear it is one of the best.He uses the same characters in the series which lends itself to broad characters and richer stories. No other writer like McBain. A style all his own. A true master of the craft.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. DEAF MAN STRIKES AGAIN!!!! By Mac Blair The deaf man is back. He is sending the 87th precinct clues to his nextcrime. Who can figure them out before the crime is committed? In the meantime Kling is working on a string of burglaries. Carella is working on finding who killed a man and nailed him to a wall. All things come together at the end but it makes for good reading to get there. The deaf man is a thorn in the side of the 87th. Will he be captured this time? McBain again weaves all the pople into a very good mystery book. It is a quick read and will hold your attention.

Words of Encouragement Are a Nice Touch By NickNack I bought this for my friend that was recently diagnosed with cancer to give her something to help her find clarity, meditate and keep her occupied during chemo sessions. I love that each page is an encouraging phrase to color. Some of the pages are a little juvenile in the drawing in that they are not very complex like other mantra coloring books but I feel like the encouraging phrases makes up for that.

An Irish Republican Army plot goes horribly wrong when its leader, Johnny Murtah, kills an innocent man and is himself gravely wounded. As the police close in on Johnny, his compatriots must make a daring bid to rescue him. But they are not the only ones in pursuit: an impoverished artist, a saintly priest, a sleazy informer, and a beautiful young woman all have their own reasons to be desperate to find him. Meanwhile Johnny wanders the streets injured and alone, trapped in a delirious nightmare, surrounded on all sides by betrayal and faced with the realization that he may die that night with the stain of murder on his soul. As the action unfolds over eight hours of a cold Belfast night, the suspense builds towards an explosive conclusion. Both a critical success and a bestseller, F. L. Green's masterful thriller Odd Man Out (1945) is best known today as the basis for the classic 1947 film adaptation directed by Carol Reed and starring James Mason. This edition, the first in over 30 years, features a new introduction by Adrian McKinty. 'A spellbinder . . . takes hold before the first shot is fired' - New York Times 'Rarely does a tale about pursuers and pursued reach the intensity of fear, uncertainty and apprehension' - New York World-Telegram 'Of unusual interest and distinction . . . very moving . . . produces effects of high and painful excitement' - Spectator

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. On the Run By Mr. Felix Hagan A very well-preserved edition of F.L. Green's classic story of the I.R.A. man on the run in the streets of Belfast, although neither the organization or city is mentioned by name.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Odd Man Out By Cphe When Johnny Murtah of the IRA plans a robbery to gain funds for the cause the fallout is disastrous. During the robbery a man is killed and Johnny is severely wounded and finds himself on the run from the Peelers. He becomes a wanted man from both sides of the conflict. The novel is divided into two parts. The first deals with the fallout of the failed robbery and the second deals with Johnny who finds himself alone and without support. This was less of an "action" novel and far more "psychological". It wasn't quite what I was expecting. Some of the dialogue between the characters was stilted. Even though Johnny was the "villain" of the piece I did end up feeling some empathy for the character by the end. The atmosphere was dark and seedy in some respects. Worth consideration for the time period alone.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Five Stars By Duke Barrett wonderful book and great style and writing. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

After talking her way into a job writing for Portland's Northwest Extreme magazine, Meg Reed may now really be in over her head. Actually, about 8,000 feet over her head. . .She's at Mount Hood's remote Silcox Hut, covering the the seriously hardcore Ridge Rangers-- Oregon's elite high-altitude rescue team--during their four-day winter training. Sure, Meg beefed up her outdoor skills over the summer . . . but she's still hoping to cover the event with some hot chocolate by the cheery fireplace. Then, during a sudden blizzard, she swears she hears gunshots. No one stranded in the hut believes her . . . until self-absorbed Ridge Ranger Ben Rogers is found outside in a pool of frozen blood. Meg's now got to find this killer quickly . . . before cabin fever does them all in! Praise For Scene Of The Climb"A splendid overview of the greater Portland and Columbia River Gorge region, perfect for travel buffs. Her protagonist shows promise with her determined attitude and moxie." --Library JournalIncludes Adventure Guides!

22 of 22 people found the following review helpful. Irritating lack of attention to details. By astrid I love the locations in this book, but the writing and plotting were often poor. Meg is a writer for the magazine Northwest Extreme and is doing an article about the newly formed Ridge Runners, a high-altitude mountain guiding team made up of competitive snowboarders. Despite having no experience in snow, Meg goes out in a blizzard to find one of the snowboarders and hears some shots while she is near a picnic table. The person she is looking for has to rescue her as she can't find her way back to the cabin in the blizzard. The next day, another man, Ben is missing. Two of the Ridge Runners, Jackson and Henry go out to find him, again in a whiteout blizzard so severe they use a rope tied to the cabin to find their way back, and Meg goes along. Meg, who is short, heard the shots when the snow was knee deep for her, about 18 inches. Now the snow is waist deep, or 18-20 deeper than the day before. In this blizzard, Ben sees something, calls to the other two, and they find him looking at blood surrounding his knees. If he is tall, that could make his knees the level of Meg's waist, but how could blood from the day before rise up 18 inches? Then Ben digs at the base of the picnic table and finds more blood. How could the blood travel down 18 inches?Seemingly, it traveled both up and down 18 inches? Then Jackson drops the rope in the whiteout condition and plunges forward to find thebody "only 20-30 yards" (60-90 feet) from the picnic table. How could he even see that far? The next day, there is crime scene tape from thepicnic table around a ten foot perimeter. The area where the body was found apparently didn't merit crime tape? Then nothing is said any more about the murder. Was he actually shot, or stabbed? How did he travel 20-30 yards from the area where there was so much blood?Nothing said about the autopsy report. There are other inconsistencies: The team is training making snow caves. Clint, the leader says "Let's spend about half an hour on this." On the next page, he looks at his watch and says "You've got one hour." Meg "loves" makeup, but her beauty routine seems to consist of pinching her cheeks, which is mentioned several times. Really? Really? Is this the 18th century? She's never heard of blusher? How long is pinching her cheeks going to keep them pink? Two minutes? Irritating. Meg is knocked unconscious, which is by definition a concussion. She is dizzy the next day, yet goes on as usual. Not medically plausible. And there is no explanation in the book as to who knocked her out or why. A doctor gives Meg a pain injection for her broken arm. As soon as the needle pierced her skin, she felt the cold medicine running through her veins. Then she has a long conversation with the sheriff, then finally gets sleepy with the numbing medication pulsing through her veins. If the injection had been into a vein, she would have been out in a few seconds, so this was obviously an injection into a muscle, and she couldn't have felt it immediately in her veins. And veins don't pulsate. Just poor attention to details.

By Carolyn Hertz I received a free kindle copy of Slayed on the Slopes by Kate Dyer-Seeley, published by Kensington Publishing Corp. from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.I gave this book three stars only because I hate cliff-hangers. The story was fine until the end.I loved the descriptions of the Oregon ski area at Mount Hood. The characters were well drawn. The mystery kept me guessing.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A smart, crisp, and witty cozy mystery By Jenna Czaplewski at The Girl with Book Lungs This series, in my opinion, has been a hit from day one. Meg Reed is one of my favorite contemporary characters in the cozy mystery genre. She has such an earnestness and sincerity to her that I can't help but really like her. And, she reminds me a lot of myself at her age - charmingly naive (if I do say so myself!). She has a passion for her craft that really comes through; especially since she is working for an extreme outdoor sports magazine when she certainly doesn't fit the type! But she knows what she's good at and she knows she's an outstanding writer who can bring the readers to the moment - even if what she describes isn't exactly her forte. In Slayed on the Slopes, Meg is writing a feature story about the Ridge Rangers - an elite high-altitude rescue team. To really get the inside scoop, she's attending a four-day training with the group high up on the mountain. A blizzard imprisons the already isolated group in their hut thousands of feet above the lodge at Mount Hood. At one point, Meg steps outside into the blizzard and faces two very dangerous realizations: not only can she not find her way back to the hut, but what that a gun shot she just heard? Kate Dyer-Seeley has crafted a smart, crisp, and witty cozy mystery. Suspicions practically dances from a character to character; keeping me and Meg on our toes! What is really even more intriguing to me is the back story/behind-the-scenes mystery that is at work in the Pacific Northwest mysteries. Tiny pieces of something larger at work fall into play in both Scene of the Climb and Slayed on the Slopes. Truths that Meg thought she knew about her father, her family, and her job are suddenly being called into question - and she and my crush (ooops! I mean Meg's crush), Matt, are inching their way into very, very dangerous territory. Slayed on the Slopes drops one bombshell of a cliff-hanger ending and, if you're anything like me, you'll be on the edge of your seat until the next Pacific Northwest mystery is released . . . in 2016 (sob!).

London, 1582: Mistress Rosamond Jaffrey, a talented and well-educated woman of independent means, is recruited by Queen Elizabeth I’s spymaster, Sir Francis Walsingham, to be lady-in-waiting to Lady Mary, a cousin of the queen. With her talent in languages and knowledge of ciphers and codes, she will be integral to the spymaster as an intelligence gatherer, being able to get close to Lady Mary just at the time when she is being courted by Russia’s Ivan the Terrible. However, there are some nobles at court who will do anything they can to thwart such an alliance; and Rosamond soon realises the extent of the danger, when a prominent official is murdered and then an attempt is made on both her and Lady Mary’s lives. In her quest to protect her ward – and her estranged husband – Rosamond must put herself in mortal peril.

8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Traitors at Every Turn! By Viviane Crystal Mistress Rosamond Jaffrey is married but separated from her husband and living independently. She is wealthy, educated and intelligent as well. While she has no problem filling her days, she is now drawn into the service of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Lady Mary, in London in the year 1582. However, she’s not there to be a semi-servant to Lady Mary but to be a spy for the Queen’s chief spymaster, Sir Frances Walsingham, a man who knows everyone’s business and shares his knowledge sparingly if at all. Now Rosamond is to be his ears and listen to the gossip of Lady Mary and her ladies in waiting, Rosamond is not sure what she is to hear, but it doesn’t take long to realize that it seems someone is trying to arrange the marriage of Lady Mary to the Tsar of Russia, Ivan the Terrible, a tyrant whom all fear and few trust. The mystery deepens when several murderous attempts fall on first Lady Mary and then on Rosamond herself. Lady Mary is believed to have succumbed to a dreaded disease when in fact she is the victim of poison. On it goes with events conspiring against Rosamond that look like accidents but occur too frequently to be coincidence. In the meantime, Rosamond’s husband, who is living in Russia supposedly doing busy with a Muscovy merchant company, has been distracted by the widow of an Englishman who was executed as a traitor. The Tsar will not let this woman return to England and so she lives in dire poverty and miserable conditions. Soon Rosamond’s husband is feeling more than pity for this young, attractive woman and he will bear some very harsh consequences for his attendance upon this woman and his plan to free her to return to England.Rosamond at first has to mentally explore who could be responsible for attempting to harm Lady Mary and why they are trying to make sure a marriage and alliance with the Tsar never comes to pass. As in any well-thought out mystery, each character has some flaw, weakness or political connection that could provide a motive for a plot to harm the Queen’s cousin. Rosamond herself is betrayed a few times and has to come up with some very rapid reasons for explaining her presence as a lady-in-waiting to Lady Mary. All in all, Rosamond is a clever, ingenious sleuth who keeps the reader guessing on every page and flipping the pages to relish each engaging misunderstanding, attack, clue-ridden occasional dialogue, and violent scenes occurring to Rosamond and her husband Rob. A splendid read that is highly recommended for all lovers of well-crafted mystery fiction.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Murder in the Queen's wardrobe By Clare O'Beara I thoroughly enjoyed this historical mystery. A comfortably-off merchant's wife is persuaded to turn spy, acting as a lady in waiting to a titled young woman. Czar Ivan the Terrible is sending an emissary to woo her on his behalf. The Queen of England would need to give permission for such a marriage, but she is afraid to offend Ivan. The fun part for me is seeing historical London, all today's districts and boroughs just outlying villages beyond the City and Tower. Life is really well described, with scents and sounds to make it vivid for the reader. The work of being a lady in waiting seems quite a boring one, but there is plenty of intrigue and danger for our intrepid heroine. Indeed, the first peril is encountered in the place where the royal gowns and robes are created and stored.Meanwhile her husband the merchant is off in frozen Moscow, trying to do deals, survive the snow and help an Englishwoman fallen on hard times. We don't often see outside Britain in these mysteries so the several changes of location are welcome. If you like Elizabethan thrillers you'll enjoy this one, with a heroine to identify with and cheer.

Enough twists to be interesting without being contrived or convoluted. Characters are not prefect people. Look forward to many more. I read all the lady Appleton series. This series could be even better. Historical accuracy indicates extensive research and attention to detail.

First, anyone that has a cat or had one, knows you end up paying attention to what they try to tell you. They stare at something you go over and find out, start crying at same time as staring you practically run over this time or pay the consequences. So she talks to Pandora but ignores when the cats is almost screaming in her face. Sorry Ms. Dobbs, but as I have a couple for companions I pay very close attention to what they say. Next, Willa's total disregard for her supposedly best friends tea business. This may have been ok in the first book, but Willa needs to get over it and be the friend Pepper thinks she has.I do like the series (great price does not hurt) but Willa needs to grow. She is becoming stagnant and I tended to skip ahead in this story.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A Mew to a Kill is sure to delight mystery lovers By J. Sasse Leighann Dobbs continues to delight animal lovers with her cozies blending magic and mystery. A Mew to a Kill is the third novel in the Mystic Notch mystery series.Paisley Brown is used to finding ways to get people to do what she wants - in this case getting a coveted spot in the arts festival. Though lacking in talent as a photographer, her skills as a manipulator bring her success, albeit temporary. Early the next morning Paisley's photography studio burns to the ground and her body is found amidst the ruins. This isn't the end of Paisley's manipulation, however, as her ghost appears in Willa's bookshop seeking justice. Paisley needs Willa to find her murderer in order to pass to the other side. Was her death linked to the arts festival, or did Paisley's blackmailing tendencies get the better of her?Meanwhile, Pandora learns of a special kitten, saved from a fire the previous summer. Is this kitten one from the prophecies? As in the previous novels, the parts where the cats take precedence are as entertaining as the human parts of the mystery. Although the cats are intelligent and communicate with each other, they keep their feline dispositions.I also like that by the end of the novel those animals needing homes are adopted by humans who will love them. The central characters are well developed and likable. The relationship between Willa and Striker is sweet, with it being clear how much they care for each other. Friends and family alike care even when they would prefer that Willa take fewer chances while investigating.Mystic Notch is a town that any self described crazy cat lady would love to visit. Filled with charming characters and fascinating felines it has a special allure. I look forward to delving into the town's secrets in Dobbs's future Mystic Notch novels. The Mystic Notch cozy series does not have to be read in order. Newcomers to the series will find that Dobbs does an excellent job introducing the characters without being repetitive. If you love well written cozy mysteries filled with cats and magic - look no further. A Mew to a Kill is a fantastic addition to the library of any mystery lover.--Crittermom (from the Muttcafe.com blog)

This time, ex-crime investigative journalist, current bookseller Willa Chance is serving on the art committee for the Mystic Notch Art Festival. To her dismay, Paisley Brown, a photographer/shopkeeper who has a shop across the street has been given a slot in a contest for best artist. It becomes evident that Paisley has bribed and/or blackmailed several judges to secure her victory. She is quickly murdered and her shop burned. Willa is on the case! Of course, aiding her is her cat, Pandora together with Paisley's ghost. There is also a fascinating subplot about a kitten who survived a terrible fire and is "special". The kitten must be protected at all costs and rescued from an evil influence. All the plot lines come together for a truly remarkable finish. If you enjoy Cozys about cats, this series is for you

Instead of seeing these pieces as too short, I now see them as extra content that enrich the ARKANE world. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a whole story that didn’t feature Morgan Sierra except as referenced in the protagonist’s thoughts, but enjoy it I did.Morgan’s partner Jake Timber spends his day in New York doing some sight-seeing that most would consider horrific. He teams up with New York Agent Naomi Locasto to track a murderous group bent on stealing a holy relic for a terminally ill man determined to save himself at all costs. There are underground tunnels, hidden libraries, mortal danger and a supernatural being. Somehow in all of this action there is time to learn more about Jake, his tragic past and current feelings for Morgan Sierra.I encourage you to add this treat to your To Be Read pile, and sooner rather than later.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Love, love By Ginny Shuflin Love, love, loved this book. Once again Penn does not disappoint. I cannot say enough how this author's style reads "like butter". It grabs you from the beginning and never lets go and as any good author does, leaves you wanting more by the end of the journey. I love how she takes religious dogma and turns it so close it borders on sacrilege but never mocks or demeans. Just turns it enough to make you wonder, could it be possible what she is advancing in her theory in the story line. I always feel like I have taken a great journey and am exhausted by the end of the trip. Now that is the purpose of reading fiction as far as I am concerned.

It's great to see the author really coming into her voice, while the research remains very much present it's beautifully woven into a thoughtful narrative with plenty of action. The story itself is reasonably simple yet the author manages to weave in a number of different layers and considerations giving it depth. The characters are interesting and well-developed, particularly given the length of the book as a whole. All together, it's an action-packed, interesting, quick read (in the best possible way!).

You've been in that zone where socializing, both platonic and romantic, comes easy -- but most of the time you're not there. Around the women who intimidate you most you struggle to think of what to say, sabotage yourself in ways you don't fully understand, and feel confused about when and how to express your sexuality. You worry that you'll have to settle for someone who you're not all that excited to be with (if you're lucky enough to find anyone) and/or face a messy divorce when it inevitably doesn't work out.

That's why I wrote this book.

I've coached men on improving their social and dating lives for over a decade, charging thousands of dollars for a weekend program, appearing on national news outlets, and amassing millions of views on youtube. I have a success rate with my clients that puts the rest of the industry to shame, and this book represents the very best of what I teach.

I want to make this knowledge available now because I know what it's like to feel as though you'll have to settle for whatever comes along... like the women you really want to be with are speaking a different language. I wrote this book because I wish I had it back in middle school.

This isn't a collection of pickup lines or tricks. Let's face it - if those worked, you wouldn't be reading this right now.

Simply put, this book teaches you to be that person you are when you're "in the zone" all the time. It's about stripping away all the things that are keeping you from being naturally attractive. You've always known that, "just be yourself," was good advice, otherwise it wouldn't be repeated so often. This is the book that finally explains how to do it.

In this book you're going to learn:

- How to eliminate "rejection"

- Why the words you say don't really matter

- The action to take that will always get you "in the zone"

- How to identify the women that really want you to approach them

- Understanding what flirting means, and how to become a master at it

- What to text if she doesn't respond

- How to know exactly when she wants you to make the move

- What to say to start a conversation in any situation

- How to make conversations with people who intimidate you flow as smoothly as chats with your best friends

- How to get her to contribute equally to the conversation so you don't do most of the talking and run out of things to say

- How to easily overcome awkward silences

- The secret to being funny

- How to move an interaction forward sexually without ever worrying about being called "inappropriate" or "creepy"

- How to get a phone number that turns into a date 90% of the time

- How to ensure your dates are charged with sexual tension rather than ending in an awkward kiss attempt

- The way sexual attraction actually works, and why the lessons you've learned your entire life are wrong

- How to turn a friendship into something more

- How to build a social circle so you'll always have a "wingman" or someone to hang out with

- How to always look great, even if you're shopping on a budget

- How to scream confidence with your body language instead of insecurity

- The difference between "He was ok" and "He's awesome"

- How to develop yourself into the man who naturally attracts the woman (or women) you really want

Don't expect anything overly-complicated. You'll find yourself saying, "it can't be this easy," more than once - only to discover that you're the one who's been making it difficult the entire time.

Disclaimer: The language I use throughout this book represents men communicating with women because that's what I've successfully taught hundreds of guys to do. My advice, however, applies to anyone, man or woman, who's looking to improve their platonic and romantic communication with anyone else.

I have not finished the book yet but I want to share an incident that happened to me half way through reading it...I will use this story as a review because I think different people can draw different references/insights from a story. On my way home from grabbing dinner, I saw a girl and decided to be social and started talking to her. We hit it off really well and was sharing about our views on various topics. I invited her back to my place to continue our conversation and she agreed. Once we got to my place (my roommate was there), we chatted for another 20 mins. During this 20 mins, we talked about things like governments, religions, sexuality, and kinks/fetishes.The more that I got to know her, the more I became interested in her…she is my type of girlAfter about 20 mins or so she needed to go so I offered to walk to her back (because I genuinely care for her safety). Our conversation continued as we went in her house. The interesting thing is that we have so many shared interests and views we can talk for hours. We chilled for a little bit more. I decided to head out her place around 1:00am. Normally I would tell a girl that I was interested in them from the get-go; but for some reason, I was enjoying her company and had the mindset that since I am someone worthy of getting girls….I will let my personality take care of the rest. So towards the end, as I was leaving, I felt something was off because even though we were enjoying each other’s company, nothing was happening. So I sensed that I was in the friend zone.As we were parting ways at her front door, I followed my #1 rule set for myself [to be honest and express my expression of love to women that I am interested in] and spoke my mind & expressed my interest for her. Then we walked back into her house and she gave me that talk about she is on/off with her ex and that we can hang out as friends, blah blah blah (basically the 'lets be friends speech'). Even though I got the "friend's" speech, I was proud to be able to bring the interaction to a place where I will be rejected as a man.I am in the beginning of my journey, but there were a couple of concepts that I applied from reading the book that I was proud of:1. I started the conversation by saying the first thing that came into my mind...I actually didn't think about the actual approach. It was natural.2. I chatted with a complete stranger and brought her back to my place in 20 mins.3. I was being social and had a genuine connection with meeting someone in the street…even at night!4. Walked into her house without any awkward hesitation, I was focusing on the conversation and getting to know her instead of having alternative motives.5. Instead of thinking about 'what to say' and/or 'what to do next'...I focus on being in the moment and listening to her. In other words, I chose to be interested rather than interesting. When reflecting back to the whole interaction....these are the lessons that I learned (I think this book will cover these topic). These lessons will be ingrained in my head since she was my ideal type of women and I do not want to make these mistakes again in the future:1. I am going to still have to show her that I am attracted to her by making more physical contacts with her.2. I am going to have to be 100% comfortable with my desire + express it wholeheartly because otherwise, I am disrespecting her repressing how I feel.3. I need to simply "Go for it", don't think about it or let her think about it in the name of honesty and respect.

So I've also seen this book evolve and become what it is today, which - in my opinion - is nothing short of perfect.Nick has a gift for teaching the "secret language" of attraction... the stuff that's going on under the surface. He's able to identify and explain how and why attraction happens, and the amazing thing is that it's RIGHT THERE in plain sight. You've seen it and quite possibly done it. You just can't repeat it when it matters most... until you read As You Are.For example, his first chapter, on "Holding Space". It's a shockingly easy concept to grasp, but when I think back to all of the times that I apologetically approached women (and obviously got rejected), or even times that I've been in professional settings, and intimidated by those around me, I think... man, EVERYONE should know this. Again - it's right there in plain sight, but you don't think about it until Nick points it out to you. Then you fix it, and everyone responds to you better, and you're like "oh - I knew how to do that all along... so why haven't I been doing it?"The counterpoint to all of this: if you're looking for lines or routines or tricks, you won't find them here. So there's a certain segment of guys who are probably going to buy this and say "yeah, but what do I say in this situation or that situation?"And of course, that's not the point. Attraction happens below the surface of words. You already know this, and if you want to know how to master it, then you also know it's not what you say, it's how you say it. And that's exactly where this book deserves every star I'm giving it.

The Essential Book 99% Of The Dating Community Needs To Read By Pat There are certain people who you never forget about in your life, because there are no words to describe how they impacted you. They are the few who "bring you across the divide," from one world of experience to another. One of these strange, uncommon people is Nick Sparks.A disclaimer for those who read on: I am biased. I’ve worked with Nick, and I’ve seen not only how he’s helped others upgrade their lives but I’ve had the privilege of being apart of the community of likeminded men he’s created around the world (indeed, I got lunch with one of them today). But more than any of that, I know on a personal level the quality of Nick’s teachings because of how he's transformed MY life. I was a guy who, despite years studying “pick up” and consuming thousands of dollars worth of dating advice, just couldn’t get it. I struggled with women, especially the ones I really liked, and felt fake and inauthentic. So after a particularly terrible experience with a girl I decided it was time to really invest in myself and purchase Nick’s weekend bootcamp. My life after it was never same.To make a long story short, I went from having a mediocre dating life, where I struggled to make connections and keep girls interested, to dating multiple girls - honestly, without games or bulls*** - with the knowledge and freedom that wherever I ended up I could create the dating life I wanted. And I did.Fastforward four years from that fateful weekend and I’m married to the girl of my dreams and I have my own successful dating company. And I couldn’t have done any of it without what Nick showed me.But enough about me. Because I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is Nick is retired. And unfortunately, there is no replacement for live coaching, where you have someone cheerlead you on past your fears and insecurities, and correct your mistakes in real time. But the good news is that all of that wisdom Nick distilled from his experiences, all that knowledge he dropped on us those weekends, is in this book. And the better news is that unlike the $3000 I and many others happily paid for it all, you can get it here for a mere $8.(Frankly, if you’re too “strapped for cash” to make this investment, good luck getting your dating life handled, because clearly your priorities aren’t in the right place)Note for those of you who have consumed a lot of dating advice already: this book is not like other dating books. Trust me, as a dating coach I’ve read them all. While it’s immensely practical, it’s not filled with techniques. Nick’s material is disarmingly different from the rest of the dating world’s. Unlike most, he gets you out of your head and into the present moment by having you focus on the “big picture” essentials, and helps you not to sweat the small stuff (this is usually reversed, to the readers detriment). And rather than try and change you, like most “gurus," Nick shows you how to get the dating life you want without compromising on key elements of your personality. In other words: As You Are.So buy it. It’s not only straightforward and refreshingly ungimmicky, it’s also well written and easy to read. I can vouch for this stuff changing my life. And it will change yours too, if you implement it.Pat[...]
