Nancy Haviland is the author A Love of Vengeance and The Salvation of Vengeance, the first two books in the Wanted Men series. She is also a member of the Romance Writers of America and the Canadian Authors Association. When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her three children. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Disappointed By Fallen3 I absolutely loved the first book. Hated for it to end. This book I couldn't wait for it to be over. This couple got some page time in the last book and seemed HOT together. It didn't pan out in their own book.The first 20% of the book was boring to me. There was a lot of inner dialogue. That got better though. The main problem to me was I didn't care for the hero. He obviously wanted to catch the bad guy so that Nika, the heroine would be safe but that was the only thing I liked about him. He fought being with her all the way to about 97% of the book. Literally the book was ending before he finally gave in and admitted he loved and wanted to be with her. It was the last chapter!!!!They didn't have sex for the first time until 70% into the book. Before then he was kind of a butt to her. He knew she had been abused, yet he said hurtful things to her. Because he is an ___. By the time they had sex I just didn't care.I felt more love during the bathroom scene between Eva and her husband than I did between the new H & h though out the whole book combined. I kind of just wanted her to find another man. The heroine wasn't a doormat, but I felt like she just excepted what ever crum the hero gave her and the hero's mean or standoffish behavior was forgotten.I don't even think they spent that much time together.They never even tell her that the bad guy was killing girls who looked like her. Another thing I don't get is, they all knew something was going on (from book one). She had all the signs of an abused women yet they did not one thing to help her. It took someone seeing her back before they acted. They are supposed to be bad ____. They are supposed to have all these resources yet didn't use any of it to spy on them, or research the guy. Nothing but ask her if she's ok.So anyway. . . I loved the first book, didn't care for the second one, but will still read the next in the series. It looked like some things were being set up. Hopefully it will be more like the first book. I have mixed feeling about it being the nite club owner and the guy that his name starts with a M. The guy sounds like a 19 year old horndog. I like my hero's sexy. Not immature acting and can only think about getting laid.

It was raw, violent, disturbing, suspenseful, and just plain fun. Granted, I really love books about vengeance. I like to see bad people pay for their sins. It’s even better when they are so arrogant that they don’t even see it coming. There aren’t any angels in this book. Everyone has a dark side. Some of them are darker than others. The physical and mental pain that some of the characters suffer is a testament to the inner strength that we all must have in order to survive the worst case scenarios this world may bring.The Salvation of Vengeance is the second book in the Wanted Men series. Although you don’t have to read the first book, A Love of Vengeance, in order to enjoy this one, I’m sure that you would gain more pleasure and insight into all of the key players if you did. Nika Paynne has been a prisoner in her marriage for over a year in order to protect her brother, Caleb. Things come to a head when her and her husband go to New York to attend her best friend Eva’s wedding. Eva just so happens to be marrying an Italian Mob boss. Nika also has been lusting after Vincente Romani, the Underboss of Eva’s future husband, Gabriel. Vincente is nicknamed “Reaper” and he more than lives up to his name. He is also equally attracted to Nika but doesn’t think he deserves such an angelic woman. When Vincente learns that Nika has been brutally beaten by her psycho husband, he makes a vow to kill him but first he has to find him. While Kevin is on the run, he morphs into a serial killer and the book takes an even darker turn. It was a thrilling ride. I’d tell you more of what happens but then I’d have to kill you.If mobsters, guns, and scorching sexual attraction is your thing, this book will not disappoint. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. So much more than 5 stars By Sparkymom Five stars is nowhere near enough. I can't even describe how deeply hooked I am by these books. I read the first book and absolutely couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! When I was given the chance to check out an advance copy from Net Galley, I literally wanted to jump up and down. The story did not disappoint. Nika and Vincente were favorites of mine from book one. In this story, we get a glimpse inside Nika's life with her husband, Kevin. It is unbelievably horrific. She has begun to see herself as emotionally destroyed by all she is suffering in order to protect her brother. Her memories of her kiss with Vincente months before are the only light in her dark world.As he begins his work as Gabriel's underboss, Vincente also dwells on recollections of the kiss. He starts the ball rolling on an investigation into Nika's husband, an investigation he doesn't realize her brother has already started. When Eva and Gabriel's wedding brings Vincente up close and personal with Nika once more, his desire for her and his need to protect her only becomes stronger. When he finds out what she has been hiding, he erupts like a volcano, and Nika runs away back to her own private hell in an effort to finally find the item Kevin uses to coerce her submission and end his reign over her before he can enact his latest scheme of torture and degradation. Unfortunately, nothing goes as she planned, and the situation goes from bad to worse. A game of cat and mouse ensues as both Nika's bother and Vincente use their respective men and resources to track down and destroy Kevin...or is it Kevin doing the tracking? It becomes an intriguing case of the predator also becoming the prey. In the meantime, can Nika and Vincente resist the magnetic connection they feel, and do they even want to resist?Though I am not typically a reader of motorcycle club or mob stories, this series has me addicted and rooting for the "bad guys" to win. What I love about it is that it isn't one of those series written just to ride the coattails of a trend in genre. The characters have depth and are so easy to connect to. The stories are exhilarating, heart breaking, shocking, and fabulously written. They are a roller coaster well worth riding! I don't know how I will be able to wait for the next book.
