About the Author Rabbi Stuart G. Weinblatt founded Congregation B’nai Tzedek in Potomac, Maryland. He is the author of God, Prayer and Spirituality, and has been an adjunct professor at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland.

A beautifully written perspective By Stacy Samet This book is a beautifully written perspective on how a rabbi and his congregation lived through his journey with cancer. It chronicles his treatment through his meaningful sermons to his congregation. He uses his trademark wit and his faith to convey how Judaism helps him through the most difficult time of his life.I highly recommend this book. Even if your life has not been touched by cancer there is so much to take away from Rabbi Weinblatts sermons for everyday life.

It is a personal story of survival in a world paralyzed by fear. With a touch of humor and reminder of religious guidance he is able to move the reader toward a comforting conclusion that death is not the answer'There was a personal note to my family and to so many others who have had to endure this same malady that "living" is the answer and faith is the guardian of our lives . Many thanks to the Rabbi for sharing his personal experience for the benefit of others.

Holzworth Along with the other members of Bnai Tzedek, my wife and I were honored and privileged to see the story unfold, hear the sermons in real time, bear witness to the strength of faith and enjoy the irrepressible humor, all of which are evident in this well crafted book, but yet a faint palimpsest of that chapter in Rabbi Weinblatt's larger Book of Life. The best of teachers practice what they preach and by doing so leave an indelible imprint on the minds and hearts and actions of their students. It was our great good fortune to receive that holistic and exemplary guidance from Rabbi Weinblatt during a conversion to Judaism that concluded almost to the day with his inspiring Sermon of Thanks on February 5, 2011. Read the book. Choose life!
