We are able to enjoy the seven deaths of FBI applicant, Ridley Allen, in one complete package. Leave it to Eric Beetner to come up with an exciting and smart way to keep you on the edge of your seat. The Year I Died Seven Times was released one chapter at a time, last year. Each chapter left you with a cliffhanger and you had to wait until the next month to see what happened to Ridley Allen. Here is your chance to have it all in one book. It was suspenseful, dark, violent and witty. This book is packed with everything from brutal violence to hilarious situations. Ridley Allen takes his final breath seven times as he tries to find his beautiful, missing girlfriend, Miho. He follows her from Los Angeles to New York and back.The book begins with a claustrophobic scene with Ridley trapped in the trunk of a car and it is, rapidly, filling with water. The first of seven deaths is definitely a terrifying way to die. Only Beetner can may you laugh with the snarky thoughts that race through Ridley's brain as he is about to die. Just as he draws his last breath he tells us, the readers, how he got himself in this situation.We visit underground Japanese clubs. We are introduced to really bad guys who have no problem with cutting off body parts, knocking teeth out with hammers, or hanging men from pipes as they electrocute them to death. We even get to be part of battle with a ninja. Honestly, this book is packed with action. There is never a dull moment in Ridley's life.Once again, Eric Beetner has you laughing and biting your nails at the same time. What a fun and smart book. I highly recommend you grab this book and jump into a full blown adventure. You will not be disappointed. Snag it and enjoy!
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Surprisingly awesome By Russ the Reader I found this book based on books I like to read, had never heard of the author and loved it! Good pacing and always kept me wondering what was gonna happen next. It was cleverly written with a fun main character. I would strongly suggest it for an easy fun read that is very entertaining. Not sure why it isn't in the noteworthy or best selling section cuz it's awesome! 5/5

By Donald Hunt It all started when he met the Asian, Japanese to be exact, girl.Her name is Miho, and it was a great two weeks.Then she said, she had to leave the country, so it was Goodbye.Not accepting that, he started looking for her.Which led him, to some very dangerous people, that liked tobreak one's nose, more than once, aka The Japanese Mob.He was a dropout, living off of an Insurance settlement, but whathe forgot to mention, was what he dropped out of......was the FBIAcademy, as he decided not to follow in his Fathers footsteps.He almost caught up to Miho, but a bad thing happened...he died,the first time.Just about to give up, he received a "rescue me" call from Miho, shenow being in NY, and he charged ahead, danger be damned.And he died, for the second time.No, he is not a Zombie, he is just lucky.But he and his friend, find out that......The World really is a scary, andnasty place.
