Part One in a three-part series. From International Bestselling authors Callie Hart and Lili St. Germain comes a tale of two families co-existing in a melting pot of violence, murder and drugs in the seedy underbelly of New York City Theo and Sal Barbieri are brothers, tasked by their Mafioso father Roberto with a very clear purpose: kidnap Kaitlin McLaughlin. The beautiful daughter of Roberto’s Irish enemy, it’s high time Kaitlin was punished for her father’s sins—not to mention, her own. And Operation: Kidnap Kaitlin is a roaring success… until it isn’t. When Kaitlin escapes into the busy streets of New York City, it’s a race against the clock to find her before Sal and Theo become the hunted. Zeth Mayfair has traded life as a hitman for a quieter existence, but it isn’t long before the past catches up with him in the form of Roberto Barbieri. Will he succumb to the lure of power that Roberto is offering? Or will he retaliate by killing every last Barbieri in New York to get them off his back? Jason Ross is running. Woken in the night by a tip that the Gypsy Brothers are coming for him, he packs a bag and gets his girlfriend the hell out of dodge. Arriving in New York City in the midst of a heatwave is one thing, but being tailed by an entire drug cartel is another. Money. Power. Sex. Blood. It all hangs in the balance. And in this world? Somebody always loses. Worlds collide in Hell’s Kitchen as secrets come to light and sins are punished. Because we might be different in the light of day, but in the darkness, we’re all connected somehow. *Hell’s Kitchen is a series comprising three volumes: Hell’s Kitchen, Tribeca and Bleecker Street. By Sarah Hold onto your reading devices because Hell’s Kitchen is one wild, action filled ride!I’m not going to waste time in giving a rundown of what this book is about, primarily because it’s short (about 113 pages), and the blurb does a pretty awesome job. I will, however, say that’s there is so much awesomeness crammed in those 113 pages that you should definitely just one-click this and be on your merry way.Over the course of the book you will come across eight point-of-views. That’s right, eight! I thought it would be a little more overwhelming than it actually was, but Hart and Germain have a knack for bringing everything together in such smooth transitions that it actually enhanced the reading experience. It helps to give you a more in-depth look as to what’s happening and pulls you deeper into this world by allowing you to be in multiple places at once. Here are your POV players:Roberto Barbieri: Mafia boss. Italian. Would kill his own sons without hesitation.Sal Barbieri: A bit unhinged. Funny. Stuck with Scarlett.Theo Barbieri: More responsible than his brother. Hot. Throws down with Gracie.Kaitlin McLaughlin: Irish Mafia daughter. Annoying. The ONE person whose head I didn’t want to be in. God, I hope they kill her by the end of the Series.Gracie O’Connor: Kaitlin’s body guard. Tough. Smart. Can throw down with the best of them.Scarlett Winchester: Hilarious. Snarky. Addicted to alcohol and pills to help her deal with her past.Jase: From the Gypsy Brother’s Series. Haven’t yet read those books, so I was just a little lost with him. Not sure of his role just yet.Zeth Mayfair: From the Blood and Roses Series. Roberto is interested in using him for business purposes.I was never, ever a fan of Serials but when it comes to Callie Hart and Lili St. Germain, I’m like a moth to a flame. I just can’t stay away. I’m drawn in and have to one-click anything and everything that they write. It’s an addiction, one that I can openly admit to having.Overall I’d have to give Hell’s Kitchen 4.5 stars. It was fast paced, action packed, and provided me with a lot more laughs than I would have ever expected. I seriously can’t wait for the release of Tribeca!

He’s Italian and he’s mean, also known as “The Barber of Brooklyn”. Why was he given this nickname? Well he’s got this awesome technique of slitting people’s throats leaving behind a bloody mess ;)! Anyways, Roberto is a ruthless motherducker who doesn't play around. I sure as hell would never cross him. He soon orders his two sons, Theo and Sal, to kidnap the daughter of his Irish rival, Paddy McLaughlin. Easy peasy right? NOT!What starts out as ‘pick-Kaitlin-up-with-her-one-bodyguard’ instantly turns into a wild car chase. The clean cut plan goes to h3ll and crazily enough, more people get involved in “operation kidnap Kaitlin”. That’s when things get real!I knew this story would be dark, gritty, and twisted with elements of shock but I didn't expect it to also be funny with sexy banter. I loved Theo and Sal’s dry sense of humor and their sexy snarky mouths lol. In those moments, you really get to see Callie and Lili’s personalities shine through the pages. What I loved most is getting a piece of every character and of course the amazing cameos by two very sexy and beloved characters; Zeth Mayfair (Blood & Roses series) and Jase Ross (Gypsy Brothers series). Their chapters were definitely considered bonuses and sent me into full fan-girl mode. This is the start of a badass TEAM!!! Callie Hart and Lili St. Germain, together are a force to be reckon with. For I will be reading everything these ladies write; together or separate. You ladies are my two favorite AUSSIES and I love your faces!!Blogger Note: It ends in cliffy that has you wanting book 2 STAT!

Not much more than stage setting for a complex soap opera By Mady Rivas This is extremely reminiscent of Marita Hansen's My Master's Nightmare Season in literary style (soap opera style, numerous POV's, snarky tone/manner of characters, and the mafia overlay). Having said that, the story line is different, and I found it every bit as intriguing as I did that series. But much as I enjoyed it, all I got was very complex stage setting, no plot resolution, and not enough info on any character to become invested in them, except maybe for Scarlett. I need the next book now!The authors have set themselves up with a bit of a problem, much like Ms. Hansen did - too many story lines, too many "main" characters (because everyone who has a voice is a main character) and what will now likely be too much time between installments. The reader then forgets who did what when and has to go back to the prior installments, which makes this type of book - unless published with extreme frequency (like Ms. Hansen tried valiantly to do at the start but then had to take a break at which point I left the series), pretty tough to stay engaged in. And by the time you get to complete character and plot resolution, you will find yourself having invested in well over the cost of several separate reads. This book was well done, but you need to understand that this is a continuing soap opera like saga before you buy into it. With real soaps, you know you'll get your characters back every other day. With books, you just have to wait - and that is pretty frustrating.
