I wanted to make Faith’s story, and those in rest of the series, accessible to as many readers as possible. By MParks Like Tainted Love, this book moved me to tears and beyond....such a strong, powerful story! To know, that it is true, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors...to feel and see the mindset of a battered woman, the self blame, the self loathing, the fear, but at the same time FIERCE love and protection for her abuser...so frightening and CONFLICTING...yet so sadly all too often so TRUE!! Dark, compelling, page turning kept me on my toes and needing to know more about Jules..and not sure I ever want to hear "precious" again

Cawood is one of those authors that writes in a very flowing and compelling first person style. It is easy to identify with her characters and she litters her works with thrilling tidbits woven into what starts out as an innocuous tale. Her work is engaging and will appeal to readers who enjoy a dark blending of thriller and romance.Having said that, I didn't enjoy this novel quite as much as the first book 'Tainted Love' whilst very readable throughout there were too many 'suspend disbelief' moments in the book from how the couple came to be together through the obvious forensic evidence at the crime scene to the extent of the denial the main character lives in. The author needs to finesse these details better in later works and ensure that the main character continues to be relatable ie: that her denial is not so great that we cease to care about her

I have been in a marriage where my husband hit me, threaten me, choked me, and much more. I left him after 12 years of marriage and two kids. We flew 2500 hundred miles away because I was afraid for my life. I know how it feels to be in that type of relationship. I still after 36 years have a fear of men being to close to me.
