His prescription is to beat them at their own game, but before he can do that he must deal with a corrupt boss and an environment filled with temptation and danger from all sides. Everywhere Cesari goes, someone is watching. The dramatic climax will leave you breathless and wanting more. Readers have also enjoyed Hostile Hospital as a prequel to Prescription for Disaster. About the Author John Avanzato grew up in the Bronx. After receiving a bachelor's degree in biology from Fordham University, he went on to earn his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine. He is currently a board-certified gastroenterologist in Geneva, New York, where he lives with his wife of twenty-five years. Inspired by authors like Tom Clancy, John Grisham, and Lee Child, John writes about strong but flawed heroes. He is currently working on his third novel in the Cesari series, Temperature Rising.

By RUSSELL hARRIS I am an avid reader of authors like Gresham, Patterson and others of the style and I thought Hostel Hospital, Avanzato’s first book, was well within the caliber of those. I got his second book as I was leaving on vacation. I started it on the plane, opted for a quick dinner the first night in the hotel, but and read in the room until I fell asleep. I woke up at 5:00 am and picked it up again and could not put it down through the rest of the day. Most books are fairly easy to put down for a day or even a few days this one had to be devoured. In the first chapter Dr. John Cesari is mugged, almost killed and in trouble with some Russian thugs. Thus starts the new adventure of this X-thug turned gastroenterologist. Cesari, seems to attract thugs and hot woman. Avanzato does need to add a glossary of thugs in his books to help remember who is who and for a respite to review while reading.This book is fast paced and thoroughly an adventure to read. His style of writing puts him with the best. If I had to pick my next book to read among all the other authors I enjoy he would be my first choice. I am hooked! When is the next adventure coming out I can’t wait!

This action packed sequel to Hostile Hospital sees Dr. John Cesari becoming embroiled in the Russian mafia's illicit diamond smuggling operation soon after becoming the victim of a mugging attempt in a darkened NYC alley. The antagonists are big, believable, and extremely bellicose, with names like Vito, Sergei, and Boom Boom. Cesari has all he can do to keep himself alive, while uncovering and exposing the tentacles of corruption that stretch all the way from the Russian diamond mines to the greedy and murderous chief of Gastroenterology of St. Matthew's Hospital in NYC. Warning: once started, this book is almost impossible to put down until finished. Congratulations to the author on another great book!

The suspense-filled story line will have your undivided attention from the first chapter. You will thinkyou know what is coming next but the unexpected twists and turns leave you engaged and astonished. I became intrigued with the main character, John Cesari, trying his best to live a 'normal' life with his girlfriend Kelly when he inadvertently becomes involved in a corrupt scheme.I am looking forward to reading the author's other book Hostile Hospital. Absolutely one of the best books I have read!!!
