From the Inside Flap "Pat Wood's Murder on Sagebrush Lane catches you from the opening moment. Other mysteries may begin with a body, but this body isn't who we think it is. And the blood-stained 'orphan' we meet turns out to have guardians, and a birth mother using two (or more) names. All of these characters are caught in an intriguing web of concealed motives, puzzled out by Albuquerque police officers, FBI agents, at least two amateur sleuths, Sandia Laboratories scientists, and . . . but any more detail would require a 'spoiler alert.' Quick, colorful dialog draws through the excitement as eavesdroppers hearing these characters reveal themselves. This Albuquerque is as rich in its way as Breaking Bad, with recognizable neighborhoods, specific intersections, even a restaurant you'll want to visit . . . as Wood obviously has done. Like the book? You bet! It makes you want to read her others, already in print, or on the way." Richard E. Peck, author of Dean Pawn and Something for Joey.
From the Back Cover "Murder on Sagebrush Lane is a mystery that takes the reader on a journey filled with tension and suspense. From the first page, the author engages you in a way that will make you beg for more and keep you up at night. This is Patricia Wood's best book yet. Highly recommended." Joseph Badal, author of the Tony Hillerman Prize-Winning Ultimate Betrayal.

The author gets too bogged down with mundane dialogue, and it makes the flow of the book, the story line, etc, less intense. I wanted to skip some pages so I could more 'meat' of the story. Some of the characters are less than believable.

Fascinating Read By Margaret I had looked forward to the continuation of the Harrie McKenzie series, and was delighted to find Murder on Sagebrush Lane as enjoyable as Easter Egg Murder.Wood's plot is so intriguing, and the characters so likable, that I find myself caught between wanting to linger over the pages and wanting to see what will happen next. I hope Wood has other books in store for us!

Absolutely loved it and the characters so immediately downloaded this new second installment. Harrie is a lot of fun and along with her lifelong best friend Ginger they become pretty good investigators though they do get themselves into some tight spots. They are helped in all ways by Harries' love interest DJ Scott, who is an FBI agent, and Gingers' lawyer husband Steve, but the ladies' independence and ingenuity are a major factor in solving the crimes. The story lines and murder mysteries in both books are very complex and make for a very interesting and riveting read.I don't go into too much detail in my reviews because I like to find out for myself what the story is all about and a LOT of reviews just tell too much. Just know if you like good clean murder mysteries with wonderful characters you'll love this one. It took 2 years for this second book to come out and I really hope we get a third sooner than that. Excellent writing! Please keep them coming Patricia!
