1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Amazing real-life story By PMcD This is not fiction - this is the real life of a remarkable man who pioneered in the breeding of exotic birds. He traveled extensively to manage birds being exported to the U.S., but was determined to be able to breed them in captivity to protect the species in their native habitats by reducing exportation. Howard's experiences were wild and wooly. I can only assume he had nerves of steel to deal with jungle adventures, hostile and bribe-seeking foreign government officials, and double-dealing business colleagues.While this is by no means a polished narrative, the content is itself so interesting that you will soon stop noticing grammatical errors. I found it hard to put down this real-life adventure book. Howard left this life much too soon, but his legacy in exotic bird breeding will be carried on by others.
