About the Author Christina wrote her first novel, a time-travel romance, more than twenty years ago. Writing fell by the wayside as family and career obligations took over. She earned advanced degrees in business, taught for colleges, managed staffing agencies, and started several entrepreneurial ventures, until she found her way back to fiction writing through the unlikely avenue of metastatic breast cancer. By Jeanie Jackson The new Danger Cover Renovation Mystery series has started off with an absolute winner; I am already looking forward to discovering more about the characters. I love the good guys, both the main characters and the secondary characters and found the humor delightful.Alex the rehab and renovation expert is a strong female character and feels very real. George feels less real because he is almost too good to be real, but I love him and look forward to seeing their relationship develop, and discovering his secrets.From the day Alex made the winning bid on the Marlton house, a dilapidated Victorian masterpiece, life gets complicated. First she and George discover a body in a bathtub so work on the house is delayed; in the world of flipping, days count and weeks could break her, so she feels she has to try to solve the murder. The very next day she discovers a body caught on rocks off shore, but this one turns out to be alive and pretty hot. She can't believe when her grandmothers, matchmaker supreme, invites this stranger with amnesia to live with them. The paths to finding the murder and finishing the house are complicated and sometimes hilarious but she refuses to give in on either case.As a fan of Christina Burke and Elizabeth Ashby. I will definitely be purchasing a copy. This book is very reminiscent of the old Thin Man movies. You go back and forth trying to figure out who is the real culprit of the murder. There was a cast of quirky characters, a lot of mystery, a little romance, and some great fun.George and Alex were perfect in their Nick and Nora roles. I liked the fact that she was a little more rough and tumble than George. It made for an interesting dynamic.This was a really fun book to read. Hopefully, George and Alex will be revisited in a future book.

This is a renovation mystery. Alex Jordan is a house flipper specializing in old homes or painted ladies. She almost losses her painted lady to another bidder but luckily he arrives too late. But her luck changes after the auction; she goes with a friend to inspect the house and discovers a dead body in a bathtub. This will definitely delay her starting renovations on the house. She can’t have long delays or she will lose her investment. She decides she must investigate the crime. What she discovers is another body. This body is alive but with amnesia. She also discovers that some diamonds have been stolen. Can she solve this growing mystery in time to flip the house and not lose everything? Most importantly can she find romance while solving this mystery?
