Houseknecht this is an ideal companion to anyone who likes The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.The author talks about how all the items in our life have memories attached to them, feelings, and that is oftenn what keeps us from letting them go.do you really love these pants NOW? or did you love them "back when" and now they only make you feel bad?No advice on what you should get , other than a small bit on how to choose what will suit your life, but lots of discussion about how your stuff and your life interact, and how to cope.very very good for anyone who wants the core elements of "Feng SHui" without the details of directions and elements or smudging...this is a short read, but pretty intense if you have issues to work through, so i suggest tea.

I've seen and read most of the popular decluttering books, watched the videos, read the blogs. They all touch on the emotional aspects of decluttering and curating your wardrobe. This book actually walks you through the process of working through your responses to letting go and making the best decisions for you. I felt as though Ali was talking to me and actually understood the questions and difficulties of letting go of pieces that hold both strong and even tenuous bonds for us. I can't recommend this book highly enough. I think it will be what you need to finally get this very tricky task accomplished.

By Murphy Some of the smartest, most accomplished individuals I know have difficulty organizing their personal spaces. Our closets are physical evidence of inner conflicts - baggage. Author Ali Martine explains the "why" behind our packed, disorganized closets. Her book has helped me reorganize not nust my closets, but, several aspects of my home & thinking. What a bargain this little book is! I wish there was a print addition, as well.
