We follow the incremental development of our lead character, one Hyder Ali, as he struggles with attending university as a freshman and trying to figure out what the heck he really wants to do. Something us bookish types can identify with (and freshman in general come to think of it). There he meets a likeable cast of characters and undertakes some new adventures. Interesting in that the protagonist of this mystery story is a Muslim. Not something seen everyday in North American detective/mystery writing. And a welcome development. Some good use of humour too. Overall a very quick and easy read.

I have read many of this author's books and cannot wait for the next one. I CAN'T SEEM to put any of his books down once I start reading them. Hope he continues this series as I really enjoy all the characters as well as the plots. involved.
