From enemies to allies… When archaeologist Isabel Dawson stumbles upon an unconscious man deep in the Alaskan wilderness, her survival skills are put to the test. She tends his wounds and drags him to shelter, only to discover she’s saved the life of Raptor CEO Alec Ravissant—the man who may have covered up her brother’s murder to save his senatorial campaign. With no memory of the assault that landed him five miles deep in the forest, Alec doesn’t know what to believe when he wakes in the clutches of the beautiful redhead who blames him for her brother’s death, but he quickly realizes he needs her help to uncover the truth about his lost hours. Isabel never imagined she’d find herself allied with Alec, and he’s the last man she ever expected to find attractive. But the former Army Ranger-turned-politician proves seductively charming, and he’s determined to win much more than her vote. When their quest for answers puts Isabel in the crosshairs, Alec must risk everything—his company, his campaign, and his life—to protect her.

Incriminating Evidence - Fascinating Thriller By Alima Livzletlivz The “Evidence Series” by Rachel Grant is a fascinating combination of archeology, politics and war that keeps mankind hinging on edges of power play and destruction for personal gain and us readers at the edge of our seats and highly entertained.“Incriminating Evidence” takes archeologist Isabel Dawson to the wilds of Alaska searching for truth about her brother Vin’s death as a Raptor operative on Raptor land. Saving the Raptor CEO Alec Ravissant was never on her hiking trail, yet she ends up saving the unconscious former ranger turned politician despite her reservations about him covering up her brother’s death.Alec has no recollection of how he ended up unconscious or who would want to hurt him. But facing his red haired, sassy and smart savior sure sparks attraction that he wants to explore. Being a millionaire running for senate and operating an organization of covert operatives sure puts him in the crosshairs of danger, but now Isabel’s life is threatened as she becomes a victim of evil and end up in his compound for protection. With the danger of betrayal coming from within the walls of the compound, Alec and Isabel have a traitor to catch and a passion to explore. With trust and honesty put to test, both have to go beyond their feelings to believe in each other enough to put their lives in each other’s hands. Alec and Isabel are two strong and courageous individuals, willing to sacrifice for each other to bring justice to her brother and put an end to the threat harboring the world. With a sublime passion and an aura of lust between them, Rachel Grant does a brilliant job of weaving a tapestry of suspense and danger in the wilderness of Alaska. With no dearth of emotions and pain, “Incriminating Evidence” takes you on a thrilling ride of pain and betrayal, trust and honesty, evil and destruction. And it is always wonderful to re-visit characters from the previous books of the series. With so many small moments of tenderness and love, passion and lust, danger and betrayal, greed and evil, this is one entertaining and fascinating book you will not put down until the very last page is read.Received an ARC from All Night Reads via NetGalley for an honest review.

'Incriminating Evidence' continued a downward trend in the Evidence series, in my opinion. I decided to write this review to counterbalance all the rave 5 star reviews, for any readers who may feel as I do about the declining quality and the over done sexual elements in the author's latest books.I don't have a issue with the plot and the suspense. What troubles me is the heavy emphasis on the instant lust, and the constant focus on the sexual relationship between the main characters. I can't wrap my mind around accepting that two top-of-their-field professionals constantly behave like sex deprived teenagers. The main characters are just over-the-top inconsistent in their behavior toward each other. There is some serious stuff going on in their lives and they barely know each other, but they are obsessed with sexual thoughts about each other! In the middle of being targeted by some unknown enemy attacking them with a seriously dangerous weapon, Alec and Isabel barely survive being swept into glacial cold rapids. Suffering from hypothermia they find shelter and go at it with each other like rabbits? Seriously? One minute they trust each other, then they don't, then they do again. Our hero Alec Ravissant, a wealthy ex-Ranger, CEO of Raptor, now running for public office is soooo busy, yet he constantly finds time to engage in verbal and physical foreplay with Isabel-even in full view of security cameras. Archaeologist Isabel Dawson must have the greatest job in the world, because she doesn't actually do any work, but can stay cloistered away in Raptor's compound, and her biggest worry is getting computer access so she can research the shelf life of condoms! There is a good story going on here, but it continuously gets bogged down in all the sexual tension, and corresponding page after page after page of sexual encounters between Alec and Isabel.I can tell that many readers are drawn to this kind of romantic suspense, so I guess this author's work is just not for me. If you enjoy non-stop sexual thoughts, conversations, and plenty of explicit sexual encounters from beginning to end, then read this book. If, like me, you enjoy a great suspense with the build up to romance/sex, not insta-lust, then pass on 'Incriminating Evidence.'

All the books in this series have been wonderful, but this one grabbed me from the first page. The story begins as Isabel finds Alec unconscious in the Alaskan wilderness. She manages to save his life, but has she risked her own life and safety by doing so? Immediately upon awakening, Alec (whose memory has been affected) accuses Isabel of being his attacker. This begins a back and forth attack and retreat between these two even as they fight the heavy pull of attraction they both feel. Isabel wants to uncover the plot that ended in her brother's death, and she believes Alec is behind the cover up. Alec insists he has been doing everything he can to help. Both retain their suspicions of each other.Strange and dangerous things begin to happen. When Isabel is attacked with what appears to be two experimental weapons, Alec takes her back to the Raptor compound. He has been keeping her away, but it is the place where her brother died and the one place she wants to be. Unfortunately for her, once she is on the compound, the danger only escalates. Can she and Alec settle their differences and work together to find the weapons and the people wielding them, or is trying to work together only going to get them both killed? This story was really well written and kept the action and suspense moving from the very beginning all the way until the end. The romance was also extremely sexy. Isabel was quirky and sassy with a soft insecure center. Alec was the " king tiger" in his domain. He was a total in charge alpha but with a devilishly charming way about him. I was completely enchanted by him. Characters from the previous books made appearances which added to the story for me. I am completely thrilled to have gotten a copy from Net Galley for review!
