About the Author Although B. Berry prefers to write murder mysteries, her first book, Even Numbers, written under the name Barbara Grovner is a story of a young girl who was molested by her stepfather and then ultimately raised by him. She would like to raise awareness by keeping the important topic of child molestation and child rape in the forefront of our minds. She is the author of three murder mysteries, Clothesline Blues, Cold Crazy, and Cold Serial. Ms. Berry resides in Florida where she continues to write full-time. Denny Not knowing what to expect when I began reading Clothesline Blues, I have to first say that I was extremely and pleasantly surprised by this book! Turns out the author has crafted a seamlessly written work of historic fiction that explicitly captures the spirits of its characters as crucial events take place at the core of the Civil Rights era, and is enriched by various poignant experiences of two women whose lives become intertwined as they struggle on their journeys to happiness. I learned, laughed, smiled and cried while reading this book and was sad to reach the end. Brilliant and soul-stirring are just two words that come to mind when I think back to my reading experience. I definitely look forward to reading more work from this author and recommend this book for a fresh, outside-the-box reading experience to anyone looking for something different.

Berry tackles a interesting plot in Clothesline Blues & i for one was drawn in by the synopsis. An unhappy & abused wife who is looking for love from a younger man confiding in her friend is a recipe for disaster. As the story unfolded i became more and more intrigued with where the author was going to take me with this plot. Needless to say i was both amused & entertained with the way the story unfolded & Clothesline Blues is well worth the price of admission.

It was a fascinating story set at the brink of the Civil Rights Movement. Two women find solutions to their man problems in murder, and you won't believe what they did and how they concealed it! The author moves swiftly from character to character, making us feel their pain and desperation. Full of romance and revenge, this novel will keep you up all night! You'll definitely want a sequel just as i do! Check it out!
