It's just generally not my thing. Although, anyone who follows my reviews will see, there are exceptions. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with Cohen Donahue's character. Fresh out of college and new to the police force, he's ambitious, but he couldn't have ever prepared for what's to come.It seems that everyone is trying to get him. Run him down. Beat him up. Before long, it can't be dismissed as a coincidence or bad luck. But Cohen has NO idea whats going on, nor how bad it's about to get. When he gets accused of the unthinkable, he realizes this who thing goes deeper than he though, and he's going to have to figure it out if he wants to make it through on in one piece, his integrity still intact as well.If you are into crime mystery novels, you'll love this one. Thriller fans, take note. It has everything you would hope for and have come to expect from the genre, but it's also a unique story--something new in a sea of sameness. If it's not your usual read, though, you may just be surprised. I was. I would recommend this book to just about anyone. It's one of those good reads that simply transcends genre preferences. The characters and attention to detail in the writing really bring it to life, and the pace is fantastic. I read it in one go. I'll be reading it a second time as well, as when I read a great mystery, I love to pick up on the clues I missed the first time around :)

His father has been a police officer and had died on the line of duty. Some strange things began to happen to Cohen. He was nearly hit by a black jeep, hold up and beaten with no apparent cause. And worse, he was accused of something horrible. He would have to dig out and find the connection behind all of this to survive. This was an interesting book. From the beginning there were small clues that intrigued and I was looking further in the plot and trying to connect the dots. As soon as I read the first pages about Peter and Theresa I was thinking about Theresa role in the story. She seemed so shrewd. Liked the camaraderie between the recruits group and how they helped with Cohen situation. The story was presented in a clear way with intrigue, betrayal, violence, kidnapping and those others details that most detective's stories have. Although it wasn’t short it was an easy reading and kept me interested until the end. Liked the author’s fluency with the descriptions

Cohn Donahue grew up knowing his mom hated and didn't know why she was so mean By Hotcha Cohn Donahue grew up knowing his mom hated and didn't know why she was so mean, but his dad Peter loved him enough to not matter about his mom. They were like fire and water, and argued constantly. At eighteen he was off to college but their friend, Bre said his dad had been shot and Cohen put off his journey to college and raced to his dad's side. At the hospital, his dad sported a bandage and said how sorry he was that he couldn't go with him and he would come visit as soon as he could. Cohen had just settled in when Bre said his dad was dead and he went home but Bre had handled everything and after the funeral he returned to college, graduated and enrolled in the police academy. He return home to Chicago for his first assignment at the police department knowing his dad would be proud to see he followed in his footsteps, he never knew that the man that killed his dad had waited five years to avenge his brother who was murdered in prison. And so it begins...........Murphy Morrison spins an intriguing story about hatred and revenge that lasted five years as the murderer kept tabs on Cohen and planned his perfect revenge! (less)flagcom
