It will not teach you to speak PA German. It is fascinating in its own right as it compares PA to standard German. Much more of an historical document and really only for people ho have an interest in the history of the language.

I'm from South Central PA and was hoping to learn a bit more about my region and heritage, but really didn't get anything out of reading this.
