Okay, first of all I have read all previous books in the Marlowe series so there's definitely something that appeals to me. I think it's the characters themselves. I enjoy following Marlowe and the others through the entire timeframe of the series ande seeing the growth and changes that take place.I have to agree with some other reviewers, however, that the books are seriously in need of editing and proofreading. Situations are repeated as if we never heard of it before, subplots are dropped quickly and become more of a distraction than an addition to the story, and the author believes that I need to know the current fashions everyone is wearing in every scene.Mr. Craig should also learn the difference between "too" and "to" as well as "further" and "farther" before writing his next book. One of my pet peeves is that professional writers should know the English language.I must admit though, that I'm beginning to enjoy hunting for the mistakes so maybe he should leave them in.Bottom line: I liked the book, I liked all of them, and I will continue to read books by this author. If you like Key West and mysteries, then you'll probably like this book.
