About the Author David studied in Washington D.C. while working in the press liaison section of the U.S. Senate. Here he began his true education about politics, world affairs, and leadership while learning from the best political minds. He reluctantly went into teaching but found great fulfillment in helping young minds. He was chosen as Nebraska's Teacher of the Year and was one of four U.S. national finalists. Even with these honors, he sensed there was something more he should be doing and gravitated into politics where he was a Senator. David eventually formed his own business, combining his strengths as a teacher and his knowledge of developing new authentic leaders. Later, he created an empowerment and selfleadership program for women and youth in Kenya where he continues to live with his wife Ruth. He is now CEO of Effective Change Consultants and continues to speak and teach ethical leadership and HOW to think differently throughout the world.

The "read" is easy and is full of personal insight and valuable lessons By Nebraska Teacher of the Year David and I have been friends only a few short years but I have grown to admire and respect who he is and what he does. "Leap" is written by a consummate storyteller who shares his personal story while teaching life lessons that everyone could learn from. He has a wealth of life experience which he shares with both conviction and heart. The "read" is easy and is full of personal insight and valuable lessons. Honestly, David leaves the door open for a sequel or two as he leaves you wanting to know "the rest of the story"!

David is an expert at helping you see what your mindset is allowing you to see. While experiences can be good teachers, they can also be "our own personal prison from which we constantly react and repeat our past".For anyone who would like to challenge their leadership ability, this book is a must. Told in an easy to read letter type format to his sons.
