About the Author Brian Adams is a professor of Environmental Science and co-chair of the Science Department at Greenfield Community College in western Massachusetts where he has taught for the last 20 years. Brian is active in the climate change movement on and off campus. He has authored numerous health related brochures distributed nationally by ETR Associates. For his first novel, he drew heavily on his experiences teaching and working with students. Brian lives with his wife in Northampton, Massachusetts.

By jaime Gamarra This is a great book for those looking to find ground in a more social environment. As a child I was pretty shy and it was really hard for me to find a group friends where I feel secure and comfortable with. The author discusses what anxiety is and how it is your bodies natural reaction to certain situations, it is simply up to you to control it. Not only teaches you how to control it by restructuring beliefs to positivity through autosuggestion, but also discusses the importance of ensuring that before you step out of your comfort-zone (making sure that your life is in order before stepping out can reduce stress and anxiety). This book give various ways that you can practice at home before you are comfortable enough to move on to the steps/activities that are set outin this book to increase your confidence in your social life.

Social Anxiety a common problem By Amazon Customer At first sight the tittle of this ebook called my attention due to I have had problems with social anxiety. Then, when I read the chapter 1 I felt identified with the author's personal story about his anxiety because I have similar problems. This is a common problem in our society although some people don't realize about that because the word anxiety disorder sounds like if we are talking about an illness. But it is related to normal feelings such as nerves, stress, fears, shyness, etc. If you have had problems with at least one of this issues for example if you get nervous before an exposition in your school, if you feel shy because you have to talk in front of 30 people, among other daily life situations. So, this ebook will help you to deal with all those kind of situations. After read this book I feel very pleased because now I know how to deal with my problems related to anxiety and actually I am applying the tactics for manage social anxiety recommended in this ebook and I feel great! Of course, it is not an easy task but with constancy and motivation, you will notice a progress. I read it just in a few hours, and it is really cracked on with the exercises, the reanalysis of my thoughts consistently slowly showed me how wrong my thought patterns were. I had some great breakthrough moments where I sat there laughing about how ridiculous my thoughts were. My anxiety lessened through doing these exercises, in conjunction I started writing a list of my positive qualities and seeking evidence for them in social interactions, which really helped my self esteem. So many years I have spent thinking I am boring, soulless, a shell, with no spark. I have been inhibited, afraid to be myself. Anxious to talk to people, shied away from life. This has been the first thing that has helped me get over that, to be more myself again. I do not regret about my purchase.
