I have had the pleasure of reading all of her previous books which I have also done reviews on at booksraddicting.com This is a series that follows Johnny Orion and Helen Eriksson who live in Darkwater Bay. Helen is by far the best profiler the FBI ever had with an uncanny ability to solve the most difficult of crimes using her gut instincts and honed skills to not only get in the mind of the most cunning killers in society but to bring them to justice as well. Her abilities are only matched by her husband Johnny who in his own right was the head of a special tasks force working undercover for the governor. The pair are simply unbeatable when they team up and work together to solve cases and put all the puzzle pieces together in their relentless pursuit of criminals. This series does not disappoint and this latest novel just keeps building suspense as the story continues to get more intense on every page leaving us with clues to try to figure out just what in the heck is going on and who are the real culprits. I admit in this novel I couldn't guess where the writer was going with the storyline at all. Every time I thought I knew LS Sygnet threw in the wrench and had me baffled. I can only say that it kept me on my toes guessing the final outcome. As usual her most beloved father is in this novel along with her most trusted friend ME Maya, and her devoted brother Crevan Conall and another great cast of characters to complete the story.Gia and her brother Micah have a secret past. Gia had asked Helen to help her find her brother that she had not seen in 9 years in the previous book. In this novel Gia's goal is to find her mother. She is good at keeping secrets and even though she asked for Helen's assistance she has not been truthful with 90% of the information she has given to Helen and Crevan. Something very frightening happened to both the children years ago and Gia can't and won't trust anyone nor can she forget it. She plays mind games, disrupts Helen and Crevan's lives, wrapping them around her finger while secretly plotting her revenge on the people that hurt her years ago. Moving across state and international lines the climax builds and the story intensifies to keep you guessing as to it's final outcome. The psychological glimpses that we see from Gia and how she manipulates Helen, Crevan and others makes us question her guilt or innocence. Eventually LS Sygnet unearths an unimaginable life for Gia and Micah that is mind blowing. Enjoy and if you haven't yet, pick up the series.Until next time.......booksraddicting.com
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Another amazing book by LS Sygnet By Jeanie Jackson The one thing that we can count on from LS Sygnet is the unexpected. Come Out and Play is an outstanding and emotional book that draws the reader in from the beginning. I foresee a lasting impact on Helen and cant wait for more books to see it played out. I was so glad that Craven played a major role in this one; I love his character as much as I do Helen and John. I don't do "dark" but there is so much hope and support and bits of light in all of her books to counter the dark that I can not resist them. I have been a fan from Daddy's Little Killer.Note about the sexual content, we do not see sex or love-making, but we do know that it has happened, however there is a sexual element to the mystery.
