Reach for the scars... Remember me? Aeron Lore: happy and humble. A people person. All around nice guy. Even I can't say that with a straight face. But seriously, things are going great. Leo's behaving herself; I'm enjoying making sure she behaves. We're a great team. SilentWitn3ss, our live-streaming news project, has launched to my favorite things ever: controversy and profit. So when the FBI comes to me and wants to use SilentWitn3ss footage to trace a serial killer named Blood Honey, I'm only too happy to be superior—I mean, to help. And if Leo thinks the brutal Blood Honey and I have a few things in common, I guess that's to be expected, given my rather unique preferences in the bedroom. My...condition. But I'm not like him. I can't stand that she would even think it. If his actions threaten my relationship with Leo, I'll hunt that fucker down myself. If he gets too close for comfort, I will make him bleed—and trust me, he's closer than I ever anticipated. There's a food chain, grasshoppers. The buck doesn't stop with him. It stops with me. Blood Honey is a nasty son of a bitch, but I can be a lot worse. Question is...do I want to be?

Romance, Thrills, Chills, Suspense... In the end, all I can say is that I personally loved the hell out of each and every page and I cried when I hit the last page because yeah, the last scene was that good..." --Regina, GoodReads reviewer"In some magical way she morphed those two from the deviant characters that added a high degree of kink and insanity in book one, into two people who have struggled their whole lives with lies, secrets, revenge and now love...the end result was purely astonishing." --TBird, Bare Naked Words

By Book Babe *This review may contain some general spoilers but they are all things I wish I would have known going in, and I couldn’t write an honest review without mentioning them.*Legacy is the sequel to Sociopath. You’ll need to read that one first as the sequel continues the story of media mogul, Aeron Lore, his cutting penchant, and his twisted courtship of Leo Reeves. This time though Aeron is not the big bad crazy. That distinction goes to serial killer Blood Honey. Meanwhile, we learn more about the past as well as get more insight into Aeron and Leo’s current relationship, the epitome of love-hate in a romance if there ever was one. It truly captures a couple with love but distrust, distain but attraction. You’ll find plenty of “love-hate” banter among sparring couples in romance, but this is something totally different. It’s dark and potentially deadly, yet the narrative always keeps it light…in the first half or more. (Man I wish I didn’t have to make that distinction).Aeron is a captivating narrator. He’s not someone you’d want to know in real life (that could be dangerous…or dicey) but he’s witty and intelligent as he, along with Leo this time, narrates their tale. Thought-provoking definitions start off each chapter once again. In the first book and most of this one, The author does a superb job taking readers into the world of a functioning sociopath. It’s not the crazy most people assume. Instead it’s a world of cunning, manipulative, and resourceful ways that invites danger. She is very talented with her writing style. But then the book takes a turning point. It honestly felt like someone else took over writing. Aeron and Leo’s story has always had dark undertones, but both the first book and the first half of this one were always kept light by the witty narration. But the last third of this book takes a turn and not for the better. It becomes unabashedly dark and disturbing while at the same time the reveals and the unraveling of the plot become clichéd. Blood Honey’s identity for one.Meanwhile, characters that were growing and evolving, becoming such fully developed characters that it felt like the two books were coming together into a perfect picture, begin to slip and become weak, victimized, and lost. While the cutting obsession would have been a trigger warning for some readers since the first book, a few new ones need to go up for this one (detailed violence and rape)! The book finally lost me on the later. It’s far too over-used as a degrading plot device for women in fiction that suppresses them and presents them as the weaker, helpless sex. My feminist hackles were raised that Leo’s character crashed just when she was starting to take off.I was devastated at how the story from the climax through the end played out and struggled to finish it. This section would be a definite one star rating. On top of the gruesome violation that was sickening, the resolution of the story becomes a sinking mess in some Maldives island waters. My head was swimming in questions of who some characters really were (existentially, not literally), backgrounds that needed more explanation, red herrings, and several plot points that felt dropped (including ones from the first book). The final ending is unsettling. It was ewww & unbelievable. I couldn’t tell if it was meant to be depressing or a twisted attempt at an HEA. (For the record, it was not an HEA in my book. For others, it might be up for interpretation.)

By Bewaji ***Spoilers ahead***Let me say I loved 'Sociopath' the first book in this series, but this second book leaves me with a big dose of 'what did I just read'? Aeron is still Aeron and Leo is still Leo. Their story is kind of crazy different, and there lies the lure for me. After she shot him in the first book and they are still together, I thought there will be hope for them. Then it happened Aeron's real dad was not dead, and he is a serial killer who mutilates women's private parts before killing them. What shot this book down for me was that there was rape, (sometimes it happens, sadly), but Leo was apparently not given treatment for that, otherwise, how can she get pregnant? Isn't there an after rape pills to prevent this? I didn't even read that she received counselling for it. Not only that, the rape scene was described in graphic details, now I can't unread it. It messed my head and psyche. I am so angry and pissed. I know this is fiction, but there should have been a kind of warning. The author kind of just rushed through the ending also, and voila, Leo has given birth to Aeron's father baby. How can that family get better with all the mess their lives has been and is now? What Aeron are doing for a living now, we don't know. All that we know is where they moved to and why.The sex scene between Leo and Rachel was described in details in this book. In the first book all we know was that they were briefly together. Why would I want to read in details their having sex? Also it was not clear how and who killed Aeron's mom. Aeron was runing how he killed her in his head, then towards the end Ethan stated that it was the father who killed the mother. Maybe I missed it. I don't know. After reading this second book, I wanted to rinse my brains out. ***Gah*** Sordid. It was too much for me. Twisted for real.

I thought I knew what I was getting into after Sociopath but I was so wrong. Lime Craven took what I had experienced in book and made this story explode into a million brilliant pieces and then placed the puzzle back together right before my eyes. The end result was purely astonishing and I realized my feelings toward those two characters have taken a complete shift from when I started. In some magical way she morphed those two from the deviant characters that added a high degree of kink and insanity in book one, into two people who have struggled their whole lives with lies, secrets, revenge and now love.I didn’t even think those two knew what love was, but Lime slowly showed us the moment they realized the true definition. I am not talking about lustful love, this is regarding the form of love a parent has for their child, the love humans have for society. She exposed them to the kind of emotion that draws you out of your selfish shell and into the environment of caring about others, feeling remorse, regret, accepting you vulnerability and downfalls. In Legacy, the author took Aeron and Leo from the world of needing to see blood during sex and into the world of his business, naming and chasing down the new serial killer named Blood Honey. This forces Leo to deal with her past, her relationship with the one friend who Aeron had a hand in destroying. Was she with him still out of revenge or had she developed an addiction to his need for power and blood. She carries the scars of those times, but are they scars of pride and affection or the means to ending Aeron Lore. What Blood Honey leaves behind is gruesome and evil, but they are also similar to what she knows Aeron is capable of. Is she sleeping with a serial killer and if not, then does Aeron have ties to Blood Honey.Aeron is determined to get the story of the killings out first. With his connection to the police, his internet media company will be the first one reporting and he has no problem showing the pictures of the victims if that will get him the ratings. When he begins to notice Leo has pulled back and showing doubt regarding him, he needs to refocus his attention to proving what they do in the bedroom is nothing like what Blood Honey is doing to innocent victims. When the tables are turned and his name is being posted all over the media fronts as a connection to Blood Honey, he knows he must do something but what? It is too late to silence the community but is it too late to convince Leo she is safe with him?Now this is where the explosion happens for me and I am only able to buckle up and watch the magic happen. How this all falls in place and the identities of players we didn’t even know were in the game is remarkable and I was left with my jaw on the floor wondering where this creative genius has been hiding all my life. I know some people couldn’t finish Sociopath, it was too dark for them, or they didn’t feel like it had a plot. Well let me reassure you that sometimes hanging in there and trusting the author has a plan pays off with HUGE rewards and this was one of those times. I still, after ten hours of finishing that book, wonder how I missed where this story was going. When did Lime Craven change the path of this journey and lead me in a whole new direction.
