About the Author Arlene Sachitano was born at Camp Pendleton while her father was serving in the US Navy. Her family lived in Newport, Rhode Island before settling in Oregon, where Arlene still resides. Arlene worked in the electronics industry for almost thirty years, including stints in solid state research as well as production supervision. Arlene is handy being both a knitter and a quilter. She puts her quilting knowledge to work, writing the Harriet Truman/Loose Threads mystery series, which features a long arm quilter as the amateur sleuth. Arlene divides her time between homes in Portland and Tillamook that she shares with her husband and their dog Navarre.

By A reader Arlene Sachitano has done it again, the 8th installment of the Harriet Truman/Loose Threads series is another page-turning winner. Make sure you have time to read this in one sitting, because you are not going to want to put it down. There are new characters in Foggy Point because of a crazy quilting retreat: Harriet's guest comes from her past and has a secret agenda that goes well beyond learning how to make a crazy quilt. Lauren's guest is a feisty ex nun with expertise relevant to what happens in town and Harriet's on-again off-again boyfriend Aiden has troubles of his own: and murder is involved. Other series regulars such as Tom, the Loose Threads, Michelle and chef James all make appearances and the ending leaves this reader desperate for installment no. 9. I hope Ms. Sachitano is already writing, I wouldn't want to have to wait too long! Highly recommended. P.S. If you are new to the series, begin at no. 1 and work your way through. Each book is a thrilling stand alone adventure, but the stories and experiences are cumulative.

I had to work on keeping the people all straight at first but once I did its was fun. Passed it on to a friend to read now.

I enjoy Harriet and her group of "Loose Threads" and look forward to more of their adventures. I will probably get the missing link at some point and will continue to read new books as they become available.
