I lived in Germany for a couple of years and this brought back a lot of the words I had forgotten. This book would be good for someone who is just getting started learning German or for someone who is planning to travel there. The book has a detailed guide in speaking the basic phrases (giving polite greetings, asking for directions, and ordering at restaurants), which I will help a tourist. The book is very good for a beginner and contained basic words and phrases that you will need. The book is easy to read.

It provides a lot of overviews, but is written in such poor English, you can't even understand them. There is no substance to this book for anyone wanting to learn the German language. It is a supplementary tool at best...and that's a stretch.
