The murderer has left the severed head of a woman on a Central Park bench. Inside the head is a typed message that suggests O'Henry anticipated Josh would be on the scene, accompanying FBI agent Rachael Tanner. The note threatens the families of Rachel's supervisor and the NYPD commissioner. The stakes rise after the murder of Josh's best friend, Arthur, a timid book dealer who found a contract in a book jacket linking the current New York governor, William Elhert, to a 1945 acquisition of shares in a German company. The major reveal will surprise some genre devotees.

By Nancy Metcalfe Interesting characters, attention to detail, well researched with witty dialogue and an intricate plot with a satisfying ending. T. G. Brown offers up a very fine debut novel. I look forward to meeting Josh Ingram in future books.

10 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Praise for T.G. Brown's debut novel By John Webster O'Henry was a great read. The multiple locations and sub plots were well woven together. The characters were well developed and the leading characters clearly identified. The twists at the end were a surprise. Looking forward to his next novel.
