No birth announcement could top the headlines from the day Janie and Jack Perkins entered the world. As twins born to a mother in a coma—courtesy of a bullet from their father—the sensational story of their birth never quite died down. While Jack still craves the flash of a camera, Janie seeks sanctuary behind the lens—as a crime scene photographer.
Thanks to Janie’s line of work, she’s comfortable around gruesome murders. But when old photos of her mother’s body arrive in the mail, they open deep-seated wounds and raise chilling new questions about who was really responsible for that deadly night.
Did Janie’s father spend decades in jail as an innocent man? Did an infamous serial killer actually take her mother’s life? With photos in hand, Janie brings the truth into focus. But when her investigation ends up invoking the wrath of the long-dormant killer, she must race to piece together the final evidence—before she becomes the target.

By Snow wench This book starts out with the death of a pregnant waitress, whose body is kept alive on machines until her twins are born. The story is told in flashbacks and present day thirty years after the twins are born. The twins were born in the lime light. First because their mother had passed and because a serial killer"The Haiku Killer," was blamed for her death. Their father was actually in jail for slaying their mother but had always maintained that a third person was in the room. Grady stated it was that person that the gun was aimed at when the shot was deflected and hitBridget.Thirty years later Jane decides that she will leave no stone unturned in finding her mothers killer. Her brother Jack is happy to get publicity as he runs for public office, but does not see how he can help solve a thirty year old murder despite believing his father, Grady, is an innocent man in jail.As Janie starts digging up the details of the night her mother was slain it begins to look as if the entire town was out that evening. A whole list of suspects present themselves.I take my hat off to Anne McAneny who has penned five very different books all of which have held my interest and made me want more. Her characters walk off the page and into your heart.

By Livre et moi Intrigue and drama mark the latest mystery from author Anne McAneny, with plenty of suspects to keep you guessing to the very end! The beginning is a little rough and confusing, but slowly the characters and situation come to light. The author tends to be overly descriptive, and sometimes the story becomes bogged down in long sentences. But overall, the book is good and I admire the author's vivid imagination and ability to entertain.
