By BookDevour *I received this book as an e-ARC from the author- thank you to Ms. Kirk***Wolf’s Honor was a great addition to the cademan series, while I have not read all of the books in this series I have read a few.The good:Strong alpha male. Connor is hawt and well-rounded as the male leadGood writing, interesting plot that draws a reader inGood adult scenes (like I would expect less from this author!)The bad:Annoying heroine. When a good man comes your way don’t put him through the ringer!!Continuity issuesPacing. This book was a little slow for meOverall: I enjoyed this book. I would recommend this paranormal romance lovers

So with honesty in mind I have say I wasn't really excited by this book. I am not normally a novella fan and this novel is a prime example why.The characters in the book are likeable but with out a more in depth background and more page time letting us get to know them they only were single dimensional and therefore hard to connect with and hard to care about. The relationship that built between them was really rushed and I didn't feel the connection between the two characters. Secondary characters you would feel better about because a lot of them were in previous books in the series. I have been told this could be read as a stand alone but I think the reader would enjoy the book more if they had read the previous 5 books. The story was interesting and could have been wonderful but 134 pages to introduce the characters, give of a sketch of the world they live in and create an action packed plot that has a lot going on is very difficult and I feel this could have been a wonderful read if it was a full length novel and not just a novella.I am giving this story a 2.5 star rating rounding up to 3 because I just didn't connect with it the way I did with other novels in this series.

I love shifter stories. And I love this awesome author who has brought both of these things together to form this great series. Wolf's Honor is book 6 in the Caedmon Wolves series and is Antonia and Connor's story. While investigating recent deaths involving both the Caedmon and the Arnou packs, Connor comes in contact with his mate Antonia. The thing that fascinates me the most with this book and the other books in this series is that as soon as the wolf comes in contact with his mate, he knows and is immediately drawn to her on a level that he has never experienced before. The chemistry and connection is instant. The instinct to bond and protect takes over and there is nothing that the wolf will not do for the woman he loves. Antonia was a little skeptical but couldn't deny the attraction that she felt for him as well. I do feel that their relationship was a little rushed because she went from having doubts one page to being committed to him two pages later. Also, there was once again a lot of pack drama going on that got a little confusing and took away from Antonia and Connor's romance. Still a great series and look forward to the next book!

Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. Mike’s car was a dusty blue SUV with a dent in the front fender on the passenger side and with the distinct aroma of fried fish inside. A plastic bag hanging from a radio knob held balled up wax paper from a variety of fast food places. Two empty cans of Coke occupied the cup holders in the console.

“It looks like you do a lot of eating on the run,” I said, hoping it didn’t sound like criticism.

“Yeah,” he said, as I buckled up. “Excuse the mess. My wife won’t go near this car. She says it stinks. I cleaned it up for you. Not too bad, now, huh?”

“As a method of transportation, it’s perfect,” I said, pressing a button to roll down the window.

“You don’t need air conditioning?” he asked as the car started with a groan of protest and rumbled to life.

“I’m fine without it.” “Where you from? Florida?”

“No,” I said, laughing. “I’m from Maine, all the way up the east coast, the last state before Canada.” “Never been there. Actually the only place I been to on the mainland is California.” “So you’re a Hawaiian, born and bred?” “Relatively speaking,” he said. “My father was half Hawaiian. Like most of us on the island I’m pretty much a mutt. Got some Portuguese, Filipino, Samoan, French, Korean—I think there’s even some Irish in my blood.” “My mother was from Ireland,” I said. “I knew we had something in common.” Mike gave out with a belly laugh. “Then top ‘o the morning to you, Cousin Jessica,” he said. “That’s not a bad Irish accent you have there, Cousin Mike.” A police car passed us on the road and the driver honked. Mike gave him a Hawaiian wave, a fist with thumb and pinkie fingers extended.

He was silent a moment, then said, “After class tomorrow you should come to our family picnic.” “Where is that?” “We do a barbecue up in Iao Valley. Good food. You’ll like my wife. She’s a lot like you. Her name is Pualani. She calls herself Lani. Are you free?” “I am, and I would be honored to come. Can I bring anything?” “Just yourself,” he said, grinning. “It’ll save me a lot of time explaining to my wife who this woman is that I’ve been seen driving around with.”

From Kahului, where the college was located, we took Mokulele Highway across the island to Pi’ilani, a four lane road that paralleled the southwest coast and avoided the congestion of the main street through Kihei, a neighborhood of smaller condominiums, homes, and hotels where many of the resort employees lived.

Mike parked his car in a shopping center and we made our way between two luxury hotels to reach the Wailea Coastal Walk, a mile-and-a-half trail that ran behind waterfront resorts and private condominium developments. I’d explored a small portion of it the evening before. It was midday and hot. I followed Mike’s example and put on a hat, grateful that I’d thrown a pair of tennis shoes in my shoulder bag so I could change out of the dress pumps I’d worn to teach the class. The paved part of the walk radiated back the heat and the air shimmered above it as we walked past a crescent shaped beach and down toward the field where the luau had been held.

A few runners, undaunted by the high temperature, coasted by us, but most of the pedestrians must have opted to wait for the cooler evening or early morning hours to enjoy the spectacular view. The luau field was empty, the tables and chairs gone, the stage dismantled and stored away until the next performance. We ambled around the curves of the coast, Mike taking his time and examining the vegetation along the path.

“So Miss Kapule was at the luau last night,” he said, pausing to peer over a bush near a rocky outcropping.

“I can’t confirm that,” I replied, “but one of the women at my table said that she’d seen her talking with someone.”

He moved on. “Who would that woman be?”

“Her name is Grace Latimer,” I said, glancing over the same bush that seemed to interest Mike. “What are you looking for?”

“Just admiring. Tell me about Miss Latimer.”

“About twenty-five, blond, blue eyes. Pretty, but a little restrained. She doesn’t smile much, but perhaps it was the company. She’s a graduate student working with Professor Abbott Luzon on her master’s project. The professor and his wife were at the luau as well.”

“In what context did Mala’s name come up?”

“I mentioned that I was looking for her. Mala had told me that one of her cousins was a dancer and that I might see her there.” “But you didn’t.” “No. We never found each other. At least, I didn’t find her. I have no idea if she was looking for me as well.” “Was there any reason why she would have avoided you?” “None that I can think of, although she had made a point of saying we might not run across each other because of the crowd.” “How many people were there? Any idea?” “I would guess several hundred, but the luau organizers should be able to give you a more precise number. As I understand it, everyone needed a ticket or reservation to get in.” He grunted. “You didn’t make plans to meet in a particular area?” I shook my head. “When I last saw her, she was going into an appointment in the science building and wasn’t even sure if she would make it to the luau. I simply suggested that we look for each other. That was the extent of our plans, if you can call it that.” “But this Grace Latimer said she saw Mala at the luau? Did she speak with her?” “I asked the same question. The answer is no. But that’s certainly understandable; at the time, Grace didn’t even know I was hoping to see Mala.” “Who was Mala talking to?” “You’ll have to ask Grace. All she said was that Mala was engaged in a serious conversation and looked as if she didn’t want to be interrupted.” Mike thought about that a moment, then said, “You should tell this to the police.” I smiled. “I thought I was.”

He looked down at his feet and shook his head slowly. “Sorry for the interrogation. Once a cop, always a cop,” he said with a bemused expression. “Hard to break old habits.”

“So I hear.” “I’ll introduce you to a buddy on the force.” “Why would he even be interested if they believe Mala’s death was an accident?” “Just to cover all the bases.” “Do you think it was an accident?” “I already told you. I’m reserving judgment.” “Just checking to see if you’re still telling the same story,” I said. “You sure you’re not a cop?” “Maybe in another life, but not in this one.” “Yeah? You believe in that reincarnation stuff?” “I’m reserving judgment,” I said. Mike laughed. “Touché,” he said. “I don’t think there’s a word for that in Hawaiian.”

By CHB74 Like many Murder, She Wrote novels, the unique setting---in this case, the exquisitely beautiful, wish-I-could-see-it-for-myself-Hawaii----is meticulously researched and depicted in careful detail. Unfortunately, I found myself wishing that even half as much care had been devoted to giving the characters distinct personalities and plotting an intricate, smoothly paced mystery.Instead, like far too many Murder, She Wrote books, this seemed far more successful as a leisurely travelogue than as a novel. The characters and writing style were flat and lifeless. The plot of the mystery was filled with enough holes to drive a truck through, and the denouement felt sloppily and hastily tacked on rather than a resolution that had been planned from the beginning.I really, truly want to love these books. I'm a fan of the show on which they're based, and I absolutely adore cozy mysteries in general. If the plots were even a little more coherent, the writing style even a splash more lively, and the characters even slightly more compelling, I'd be the first to give these a rave review. Sadly, I find myself instead feeling obligated to tell my fellow bookworms that in my opinion this mystery isn't worth anywhere near the 11.00 it costs at the time of this review. I hope this was helpful!

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Not one of the best By Avid Mystery Reader I look forward to these books every time one comes out. Yet this one was difficult to get through. There was no sparkle in this read. In fact, this was the most boring book in the series as far as I am concerned. Set in Hawaii, there is a murder and Jessica is out to solve itIt just seemed to go on and on without much adventure of any kind.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Aloha Betrayed by Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain By Deb@Debbie's Book Bag Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain are at it again with the forty-first novel in the Murder She Wrote series, Aloha Betrayed. Fans of the old television show will love Jessica's take on Hawaii in this book. With details about everything from plant life to culture this book is a traveler's dream, but it borders on getting lost in the details, instead of the mystery. Perhaps not my favorite of the Murder She Wrote books, but still a solid installment in a long lived series.Jessica is at it again, this time in Hawaii. I liked the fact that the author was able to give Jessica a reason to be in the state that was believable. I could just see Jessica giving a lecture on just this topic or something similar. I always loved her forthright and upfront manner when it came to solving mysteries and that is exactly what readers get in this installment of the series. Aloha Betrayed is clue-based and the reader is able to follow the evidence just like the heroine. Unfortunately, this one leaned a little further away from the mystery aspects of the book and centered more on Hawaii itself. This would have made a great story about the state of Hawaii, it's landmarks, things to do, places to see, etc. But it was supposed to be a cozy mystery. Don't get me wrong there was a murder and Jessica did solve it, but the bulk of the materiel in the book was not related to that part of the book. So the balance was way off. I think it's great to set a good scene and draw the reader in, but an author can sometimes go a little overboard and I think that's what happened here.Bottom Line:This one is just a bit slow and a little underdeveloped. I wanted more character involvement and stronger connections to each clue. I didn't want to know as much about the flora and fauna as I did about 'whodunit'. It wasn't predictable, just not up to the usual standard of this series. I hope for more with the next one, because I'm sure this writing duo has a lot more stories to tell.

I liked Sharon's use of self-reflection in the main character Sonny. This helped the reader to understand her and feel what she was feeling as the plot progressed. Nicely done!

Can You See Me Now?: 14 Effective Strategies on How You Can Successfully Interact with People Who are Blind or Visually Impaired. (The Average ... with People with Disabilities) (Volume 1), by Tiffany Dawn Kohnen

About the Author Tiffany is a deaf-blind woman who grew up in Michigan, so she knows all about the cold! She has Usher Syndrome, a loss of both hearing and sight. Right now, her tunnel vision is at 15% in each eye and wears one cochlear implant in her right ear. She uses oral speech to communicate with people, and knows enough American Sign Language (ASL) to chat with the Deaf. Growing up, she would waste a ton of paper and stapler, creating books. Much to her teachers, bus drivers, and nanny's' dismay. Tiffany knew she would become an author one day, working on her craft of writing while she read as many books as she could get her hands on. At the same time, she loves to teach people about disabilities, particularly being deaf-blind. Combining her love of writing and educating on disabilities, she found the perfect platform in which to turn her passion into a reality. Tiffany also loves a lot of other things in life, from doing triathlons to watercolor painting. Most of all, she loves reading and getting into the Word of the Lord. She currently reside in Tampa, FL with her significant other, Richard, and their daughter.

Fantastic Christmas Fun in more than 30 Designs – printed on one side of paper By iiiireader [[VIDEOID:2bbc7a39dce7fc3d41936e0ade692fe4]]This is a really fun and pretty Christmas coloring book with more than 30 designs packed full of traditional Christmas elements. You can find Santa, reindeer, Christmas trees, stocking, wreaths and so much more. This is going to be a blast to color and should be fun for kids of all ages. I got this just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday family get-together and we will all be coloring pages from it over the weekend - so much fun! I may want to get another copy to have on hand for Christmas week, too.The designs have a lot going on but would be fun and fast for an adult to color to get into the holiday spirit. The only thing I will note that may be of concern to some is that there are page numbers on each page and in a couple of cases, the numbers have merged into the design. It doesn't bother me for my coloring in this book but I did want to point it out for those who may dislike it. I like the numbering but wish it were smaller and less obtrusive. The designs are printed on one side of a nice medium weight non-perforated paper. The binding is glued rather than sewn but all of the designs stop well before the bound edge, so you can easily cut them out if you choose to do so without losing any part of the design. The designs face each other with blank pages at their backs. It is an interesting way to publish and not one that I have seen too often before. With one exception, the designs have a fun and unique “frame” around the design (the one exception has a garland look around the edge.) In all cases, the edges of the designs are defined and that makes it easier for me to have a stopping point and a finished look to my work once I am finished coloring. All of my markers and gel pens seeped through the page. My coloring pencils worked well with this grade of paper. While the artist has purposefully left the back blank (thank you!), I will still use a heavyweight paper or chipboard under the page I am working on to keep any ink from damaging the rest of the book if I use anything other than coloring pencils with this book.

By Christopher Benante Well, the weather outside is frightful,This coloring book is delightful,Grab your markers and let yourself go,Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! What a fun book! Lots of clear, detailed drawings for you to fill in. There are blank pages between the illustrations so your markers won't bleed through the page onto another drawing. Plenty here to keep you or the kids busy on a snowy day. Highly recommended!!

Sophie was convicted on a Tuesday--the day on which every significant event in her life, good or bad, seems to happen. Now, on the verge of his death, Adam exonerates Sophie and also leaves her a huge fortune in atonement. Sophie retreats to Kala's house and tries to evade the media frenzy that surrounds her. Kala is determined to help her client make her way back into the world. Yet for both, there are still revelations in store--about the nature of redemption, the strange workings of fate, and the power of forgiveness. 44 of 44 people found the following review helpful. strangely written and just annoying By L. Morris Occasionally I read a book that just leaves me annoyed. This was one of those. The story line looked very promising but it was written almost as it the author didn't know what to do with it. The premise that Sophie was imprisoned although innocent and was exonerated by the victim's husband in a deathbed confession had promise. You were eager to see what she was going to do with her life now. It was never reasonably explained why the prosecuter, Spencer, was seeking her out after she was released or and what he planned to do if he found her. However, a big portion of the book was taken up with this line of thought. . . how much he hated her for ruining his political career and she hated him for robbing her of 10 years of her life, etc. Then Sophie and Spencer both had these strange and very sudden personality changes. At the end I was just puzzled. I was left feeling cheated and annoyed that I purchased this book.

Tuesday's Child by Fern MichaelsThings always go from bad to worse on Tuesdays. The whole book comes down to the day of the week, in the most important of things that happen.Mikala was just about to retire but the one case she lost the defender walked in and declared he had killed his wife. He wants her client to have all of his estate after he's dead within a weeks time. Sophia has been in jail for 10 years now. When Sophia is released it's up to Kala's law firm to get her the money that is deserved her and to prosecute the lawyer who brought this to trial.Love the travel, and mostly the familiness of the 4 orphans. Love to hear how their lives have progressed over the years.Loved hearing how she spent her first days free from prison. Both sides are going through and over all the testimony, transcripts, evidence, etc. to try to figure out who's to blame for the death.Kala is now planning on marrying her retired judge Ben and living in Hawaii. They have hidden Sophia til things settle down. All of Sophie's friends from the orphanage are together, contemplating the reunion with their friend.Just when you think the end is near something else happens to make you think, wow this could really happen and just when things are figured out, they are not really.Out of the hundreds of books I've read since Jan. 2012 this is the best by far on so many counts. The travel, the sincere emotion while reading this, the familiness of the orphans and because of the way the characters are introduced they are not confusing and overwhelming because there are quite a few of them.

25 of 30 people found the following review helpful. Tuesday's Child - A Thrilling Read! By (Sunshine) Judy K Burgi Mikala Aulani is a defense attorney in the case of State of Georgia v. Sophie Lee. Sophie Lee a private nurse taking care of Audrey Star has been charged in the death of Audrey Star. Much to Mikala (Kala's) dismay the jury has found Sophie guilty and is sentence to life in prison without parole. Hatred for Ryan Spenser, the prosecutor, makes Kala's blood boil. She plans to some how bring him down.Fast forward to ten years later; Kala is in the process of packing up her office and looking forward to retirement. Adam Star, the deceased husband of Audrey's, unexpectedly shows up at Kala's office. He drops a bomb shell on Kala and her staff. Adam claims he killed his wife and not Sophie. It is obvious to Kala that Adam is a sick man. He is dying and he wanted to make amends before he passes away. He leaves the entire Star Estate to Sophie to make up for the 10 years she spent in prison. This is the chance Kala has been waiting for. She wants Ryan Spenser to pay for his huge mistake when he convinced jurors that Sophie was guilty of killing Audrey Star. Kala wants to ruin Ryan for taking away 10 years of Sophie's life. She is bringing him down.Author Fern Michaels makes this book a real page turner. The characters come alive for the reader. I love the fact that she made Kala such a strong woman and a force to reckon with. This is the first book of Fern Michaels that I have read. I am looking forward to reading other books that she has written. This book holds many twists and yes a few hidden mysteries. Just when you think you have it all figured out there is another added twist.I wish to thank Kensington Publishing for providing me with an ARC to read and review. The opinions expressed are mine alone.

The novel slowly evolves into a complex thriller involving domestic terrorists.Eric, the protagonist, survived multiple tours with U.S. Army Special Forces in the Middle East, then returned home to lose his wife and unborn child in an automobile accident. He drifts into depression and heavy drinking.Eric is both attracted to Ashley and suspicious of her. Much that she has told him does not add up. Is she the innocent she pretends to be? Or is she concealing a sinister past? And what is her relationship to Eric's estranged brother? The explosive ending answers these questions.Menace hovers over the story from beginning to end. Symmons knows when to seed the narrative with surprises and twists as Eric's situation goes from bad to worse.

The story promises intrigue - but the writing is amateurish and lacking the spark it needs for it to come alive. The characters are rather one-dimensional, and I couldn't bring myself to care about any of them.I am surprised the editor didn't do a better job in overseeing some basic writing caveats. As a matter of fact, this book reads more like a first draft than a polished novel. I do believe many of the problems are caused by editing that is virtually non-existent. There are tons of errors a good editor would have picked up on, such as a character being called the wrong name on two pages (not in dialogue); repetitive use of certain words and phrases (everyone shrugs and raises eyebrows, and "finds" eyes, hands, mouths innumerable times); missing commas; uninspired word choices that leave the writing flat; an overabundance of adverbs; completely "telling", not "showing"; and use of very simple grammar. I got the feeling this whole novel was written using only about 75 words . . . over and over again. There was an inaccuracy regarding combat duty and smoking which even I, someone who has never served in the military, saw immediately. However, the parts of the book that dealt with military and government intelligence were better written than the rest(though not compelling). The women are drawn with a paper-doll quality - "sweet," "innocent," "hot," were the author's general descriptions, other than "thick" hair which was mentioned almost every time the two main characters interacted. It was hard to imagine this world of gorgeous, or at least pretty, women, and he-man, macho types with extraordinary military backgrounds. This is a shame because I believe the story has potential and would be worth reading if the editing had been deeper and more thoughtful and if the writer had taken a course or two in creative fiction and character development.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. Weather Alert By Arlene Kay I am a voracious reader of mystery/suspense who demands a fast-paced novel with intriguing characters and plot. Out of the Storm satisfied all these requirements and more. The protagonist Eric is a credible character with whom the reader can empathize. The author endows him with heroic qualities but wisely avoids the cliches which are so common now in romantic suspense. I was less enamored of Ashley, but due to the skillful layering of detail by Mr. Symmons, I grew to appreciate this complex character as well. The villains are also well crafted and multi-dimensional. (one is rather likable). In an age where fact and fiction often overlap, OUT OF THE STORM provides one with a plot that is at once chilling and sadly, believable. For me, the test of a good book rests with my own compulsion to finish it and learn the fate of its characters. This novel passed the test with flying colors.

A teenage terrorist is on the loose in Chicago.

FBI Agent Nick Bracco arrives with a team of agents along with his mafia-connected cousin Tommy to help search the underground for the terrorist. When the teenager kills a Chicago cop, a vicious manhunt engulfs the city. Bracco reaches out to Lieutenant Jack Daniels for her help with local connections like longtime bookie, Tequila Abernathy, and she agrees to join the task force. What Bracco doesn’t realize, however, is that Jack knows of the kid and believes he is trying to escape from the terrorist organization that trained him for the job. A belief based solely on her intuition. The problem: There’s powerful intelligence verifying the existence of a terrorist cell with an explosive device set to go off in downtown Chicago on Black Friday. With just hours to go, Jack finds herself chasing the teenager alone and unarmed, ready to test her instincts. Bracco believes the teenager is there to detonate the bomb. Jack believes she can save the kid and find the bomb before the terrorists push the button. Someone is wrong. Dead wrong. And the citizens of Chicago will have to pay the price.

Gary Ponzo has created some brilliant characters, with Tommy being my favourite By Amazon Customer Well this was number four in the 'Nick Bracco' series and it was up there at 5 stars with all the others. Gary Ponzo has created some brilliant characters, with Tommy being my favourite. Not gonna discuss the books here, just advise anyone who is pondering their next read, scrolling through Amazon, to give Gary Ponzo's 'A Touch of...' series a go. They really are that good.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Good story By L. Adams Fast paced. Plausible plot line. Group of Iraqi terrorists planning an incident in Chicago to cause the highest level of civilian casualties. FBI knows something is going to happen. They are pretty sure they know where - Chicago. They know when, and very likely who. What they don't know is just what is supposed to happen so they don't know how to stop it. It probably helps that I have read the rest of the Nick Bracco stories so I already know about the relationship between the various characters. But whether you have read the rest or not, do read this.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. He's Done It Again! By Di in EPIL 5 stars for this book because of a few things. I was born and raised in Chicago and still live in the suburbs. The story was believable and struck very close to home. And, I love these characters! If there is any negative at all its that it didn't have enough "Tommy" and that it ended too fast. Gary Ponzio always leaves you wanting more and Touch of Tequila was no different. He reaches in and allows you to slowly know the characters and feel the emotions the young terrorist experiences while Nick,Matt,Tommy do their magic in finding the answers needed to stop a massive explosion on a holiday weekend promised to take down most of Chicago. This time they have Chicago detective Jack Daniels' help. She's not entirely on board as she has her own thoughts on this young terrorist..it could get them all killed if she's wrong. (great to see her work with this team!) Its another hit folks..Great read! All I can say is...when does the next one come out and MORE TOMMY!

Review Praise for "Untrue Colors" "This book was full of adventure, mystery, action, fear, anger, pain, hope, loss, family reunions and so much more...I was a little sad when I finished it because I wanted the story to continue." - 5 Star Top Pick Review, Night Owl Reviews  "The plot is filled with globe-trotting intrigue, stolen art, secret identities, and dangerous villains, and Forand balances the suspenseful mystery with a passionate romance. Alex is an intriguing heroine--a linguistic genius and a master of disguise with an uncanny eye for appraising art. She's complemented by Henry, a dashing anthropology professor and earl who's dedicated his life to helping abused women and children. Their romance unfolds in scenes that are both tender and erotic. The supporting characters are also strong, including Simon, whose sexy swagger conceals an unrequited love...Detailed settings and references to real stolen art, including Henri Matisse's 1901 painting The Luxembourg Gardens, enhance the story.A briskly paced romance featuring breathless suspense." - Kirkus Reviews"Untrue Colors is one of the best Romantic Suspense books I have read." - Ellesea Loves Reading"Seriously, one of the better contemporary romances that I've read in a while. The plot was very well written. It was equal parts mysterious, suspenseful and romantic." Christine Marie's review for Lulo Fangirl"Gripping, fast-paced, and wickedly unique." - Jodi Linton, Author of "Pretty Reckless""WOW - a superbly written roller coaster ride that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from the very beginning." - Elaine from SplashesIntoBooks

9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Intrigue, espionage, and love. By Kate Forest If you like a sit on the edge of your seat story, with a hot romance woven through it, then this is your book. Alex, an art appraiser, is running from her art-thief, violent ex-boyfriend. She’s a kickass, take no prisoners woman and an art expert. How cool is that? Henry, the Oxford professor she hooks up with, isn’t your typical hero either. He’s sexy and brilliant, and has enough of a past to give him the skills to go up against the criminal mastermind. And together, the sparks fly, fizzle away with laughter, and then re-ignite.Henry’s sexy half-brother, Simon, is the real spy. But the college professor holds his own when things get dicey. Alex proves herself tenacious and loyal, even when running from her past. There was enough tension in this story that I had to read it through the spaces between my fingers, but not so much that I had to sleep with a baseball bat under my bed.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. perfect blend of suspense and romance for me By Jeannie Zelos     Untrue Colors, Veronica ForandGenre:  Mystery and thrillers, RomanceReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsMy first read by Veronica and what a read it is. I really enjoyed it. I enjoy a suspense novel that’s not too heavy, and this with the romance angle added was perfect for me.Alex – wow – what’s she’s been through and yet she’s tough, still fighting and trying to stay alive. It must have been really hard for her, and poor Matt, how that must hurt her conscience, and its not her fault at all, she’s not to blame for her awful ex.So, escaping from Luc once again by the skin of her teeth she ends up accepting some help from Henry. She thinks he’s a simple Professor, and Simon just his half brother – and they are, but they are also much much more. Henry is also an Earl, with a castle no less, but that’s not all he is either. Simon is suspicious of Alex, why is she on the run, and who from and what for – he wants to protect his brother and he can see already how Henry is drawn to her.Henry needs help tracing a stolen painting, and after finding out why, Alex agrees to help him. Its for a cause dear to them both. It brings them into the murky and dangerous world of her ex though, where stolen arts are traded and the secret arms market reigns. Death and murder are everyday part of life in these underworld transactions. Its a great read, really sets a scene that feels genuine, and I loved the characters of Alex, Henry and Simon. They each had their own special qualities ( and talents) that shaped what happened. There are times when I really feared for what would happen. The suspense was perfect for me, letting me follow along with the story, taking wild guesses at what might happen ( and getting them wrong!). It’s perfectly paced, letting events flow very naturally and wasn’t one of those where everything is crammed into two days...but spread over a few weeks. The ending is climatic and the finale just so much what I wanted, and felt very satisfying..Stars: five, a great story that for me was a great mix of mystery, suspense and romance.ARC provided by Netgalley and publishers.

10 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Not For Me By Julie In Untrue Colors, you have a woman named Alex (and around 10 aliases) who is on the run from her art-stealing boyfriend who wants to put a bullet in her. She goes from country to country trying to outrun this sadistic, virginity-stealing con-artist. Alex is an expert in art and can spot a forgery at 40 paces. She keeps her nose out of the art world ... at least until she meets the Earl and he needs some help with a ... task.So ... I'm still a bit unsure how I feel about this one. It was just ... okay. I think one of my major problems was with Alex. She has been brutally abused. Sexually abused. And recently. This isn't something that happened years ago that she has been dealing with for a long time ... it's still fresh. But she throws herself at this dude after just having said that she can't do a physical relationship. It was very contradictory, just a total back and forth between being a damaged/chaste girl to someone who seems to be willing to whore herself out. Now sure, this could be part of her character ... her being so abused by the previous relationship that she mistakes sexual advances/action as affection. But that isn't how the book read ... it didn't insinuate that this was how Alex was dealing. It came off as strange.Untrue Colors was interesting at first. And then it started to drag. Especially the ending. Good Lord. It was almost painful with how hard it was to keep reading. The excitement that I had for the beginning of the book just didn't last into the ending. Things started to get long-winded and I just didn't enjoy it. And the fight scenes. Oh, the fight scenes. Those also didn't seem realistic. I'm a big lover of military/spy books. Those are just filled to the brim with fights and violence. At one point in this one, someone caught a dude's punch with their hand. Who the hell did he think he was? Mr. Miyagi? I think not. It came across as feeling disingenuous. Maybe it was the fact that the prior parts of the novel didn't state or insinuate that this dude was such an epic fighter that he could catch a fist with the palm of his hand. Maybe he's part of the Matrix ... there is no spoon ...And the ending ... dragged ... on ... for ... forever. AND it wasn't satisfying for me. I just didn't like it at all. I'm not a fan, I guess. But it has received super high ratings, so I'm probably going to stay in the minority on this one.

Lots of Great Coloring Fun with Intricate and Wild Designs By iiiireader [[VIDEOID:c734236a865b9612dbda343c254aafea]]“Doodle Fusion” is a really interesting coloring book. It is based on the line artwork of artist Lei Melendres. The Zifflin's color books seem to be exploring the far edge of coloring opportunities. The 50 pages of designs in this book are made up of a multitude of small hand drawn images of all sorts of things, including dragons, robots, skeletons, animals and much much more. For someone who really likes to color small and elaborate designs and wants something really different, this line of books, and this one in particular may be perfect. Each design is printed on one side of the page. The pages are not perforated but there is plenty of room to remove a page with a pen knife if you choose to do so. All of my markers and gel pens bleed through the page readily. I would place a piece of chipboard or heavyweight paper or two under the page I am working on to keep ink from seeping through.

This book is a nice change from the shapes and geometric books that the adult coloring movement has on the market now. The pages aren't super thin, but they can run a little. I just put a couple sheets of paper under the page I'm working on.No one has added a colored picture yet, so I figured I would share mine. I used a combination of colored pencils and fine point markers for this picture.

I really get lost in these pages.I detached the pages from the book to prevent marker bleeding because I love to use Bic Mark it permanent markers for vibrant colors on these designs.
